Attention Puerto Rican Listeners!

If you live in Puerto Rico, I'll be attending a very fabulous reading of Daniel Torres's new book, Mariconerías: Escritos desde el margen, a collection of essays, poems and short stories by one of the most outstanding gay Puerto Rican writers living in the U.S.

"Mariconerías" brings together Torres's reflections about growing up in Puerto Rico, living in Ohio, and spending several months a year in México, where his partner lives. Torres wrote the first Puerto Rican novel to engage the topic of AIDS, Morirás si da una primavera, which won the Letras de Oro prize in 1993. He is also the author of a book of short stories, Cabronerías o Historias de tres cuerpos (1995) and of several collections of poems and essays.

His new book, Mariconerías, will be presented on Thursday December 21 at 7:00 pm at La Tertulia Bookstore, Calle O'Donell 201, in front of the Plaza Colón, in Old San Juan. Mariconerías will be presented by Mayra Santos-Febres, Moisés Agosto, and Lawrence La Fountain-Stokes. The event is free and open to the public. For more information, email Larry La Fountain at lawrlafo@umich.edu.

Fausto !

I do love your haircut !!

Welcome back to the world of handsome princes. The editors of Time should have chosen this photo to grace the cover of their magazine. One day you are going to make it, I am pretty certain of that.

Thank you Shannon and George for your kind words. I'm really looking forward to meeting up some of the good people who listen to the show in Puerto Rico!

I WISH I could be there with you, Fausto! BUT that's just about the time Talia, Angie and I arrive in PR! Boo Hoo! I'm getting nostalgic just reading your notes!
