FOF #420 - Halloween Hangover - 11.02.06
Boy did we have a good time on Halloween this year! Marc had decided early on to dress as a crook, a villain inspired by the wacky Batman TV show from the 1960s, and I was hopelessly trying to figure out what to wear.
So I went to the Halloween superstore looking for a cowboy outfit that would work well in warm weather, and found nothing of the sort. So my second choice was to be a vampire, but the costumes there simply looked like crap. One outfit that stood out to me was the "King of the Knighthood" because it looked wacky and inspired from the fabulous Camelot musical that is such a hit on Broadway these days.
But I wanted to be a vampire! I was resourceful and combined the vampire teeth with the king's robe and it was a hit! Marc and I walked up and down the Halloween parade spreading the FOF gospel and talking to the fans out in the streets.
But those darn fangs. I felt more like a hillbilly crack dealer than a vampire, so I started talking like Gomer Pyle, asking the confused people of Chicago if they wanted a slice of apple pie.

and just listening to the show right now and about the story of that korean boy you guys bumped into - what was he doing at a 'gay parade' if he wasn't gay? strange.
plus it's not a cultural thing - many asians can't hold their alcohol very well... and it just sounds like this individual needed a cock up his ass. like seriously. i mean, i'm asian and would never do a thing like insist on my drink in a bottle when someone just bought me a beer in a glass... hello, beer? no wastie...

great show as always, but i am a bit concerned that you had interviewed and promoted someone from Kama Sutra the musical if you end up not liking it? why didnt you see the show before even deciding whether or not to have anything to do with it? there may be dozens of pissed off people that trusted your first opinion and wasted their time and money on the show.
but i love you crazy peeps anyways. and have fun at whatzitcalledagain? make sure there's no cameras in the rooms!

Fausto's costume description cracked me up. The schizophrenic / hybrid costumes are always my favorites. A friend of mine once dressed as a policeman, but kept insisting he was Elvis. The sunglasses & pompadour were supposed to convince us. Whatever... This year, Tammy Jo (a once a year drag queen) got mistaken for Patsy Cline & Jackie Onassis equally. WTF?
