FOF #388 - Meth Madness Part VI - 09.14.06

Podcast
Are these the faces of meth addicts?
Fergie, well known as the female lead singer of the Black-Eyed peas, now on a solo career is suddenly talking about her struggle with crystal meth.

She says "A lot of it was being a child actor: I learned to suppress feelings."

Although her confession seems sincere, it strikes us all over here in podcastland as quite odd that anybody in the entertainment business would want to expose their former substance abuses instead of trying to cover them up.

Ronnie says it's because Fergie is trying to get some "street cred" for her new Album, whose sales are doing quite nicely. But lets face it, Fergie is no meth addict.

But if admitting you have had a drug problem helps raise your ranking on the iTunes music store then I have struggled with poppers and crack, Marc is a former coke-head and Ronnie... well what is Ronnie NOT addicted to?

Join us on today's show as we talk about the Chinese government plans to recreate an old Gilligan's Island episode by sending seeds into space, John Travolta's fat face, and why Starbucks is under attack from people who have nothing better to do with their time.

In case you don't believe me either, here is the link for Gilligan's Planet.

Just say yes to the Feast of Fools podcast.

Mark,

Bob Denver was also in a short-lived Sid & Marty Krofft series, "Far Out Space Nuts". He was basically Gilligan in space. I don't think Alan Hale was in it (Skipper) but there was a similar character. They were custodians, cleaning a space rocket and accidentally launched it.

I haven't had a chance to listen today, I'm really crazy busy at work, but I did read the intro. I remember the Gilligan's Planet cartoon and I always thought it was odd that Ginger had white hair.

I couldn't agree with you all more about the war and the complete lack of politician's children serving. My little brother watched me rack up over $60k in loans to pay for my education, and figured he'd join the National Guard to avoid being in debt for the next 30 years. He graduated from boot camp less than two weeks before September 11--and not two years later he was pulled out of college to go sit in a fucking desert for over a year. He was lucky, as things were comparatively calmer back then in the southern part of Iraq, but still--it was a horrible time for my family. My dad blamed himself for not being rich enough to help John with his education. Thankfully, he came home safely, graduated this past May, and is about to start a new job and move in with his girlfriend. They keep asking him to volunteer to go back to Iraq. When are they going to ask all these hawks to go serve THEIR time?

Okay, I know this is a little late but I just had to comment on this whole Starbucks lawsuit thing. Miss Ronnie, you hit the nail on the head, girl! When I heard that story I was so pissed off. There are people in our own country who are starving to death, I can't tell you the number of homeless I see on the street every day and this person is making a lawsuit over a coupon? If that bitch would take the money, time and effort she is using for this stupid lawsuit, she could actually do some good in the world. And these lawsuits are the reason why you can't even buy anything these days without some stupid warning on it, like we're all complete morons. "warning, coffee is hot", "warning, don't put the plastic bag over your head", warning, razor blades are not children's toys". I mean, for God's sake, are we all perpetually 12 years old??? To quote Miss Ronnie, "America, grow the fuck up!"

Thank you, I feel so much better now. Can't wait to see y'all in LA. Woo hoo!!!

Hey Feast of Fools,

Thanks for another great show. I loved the Star Trek program too.

Speaking of the war in Iraq, I feel the same way about it as you do. What do you feel about conspiracy theories? Check out www.loosechange911.com if you want all your worst fears about our government to come to life.

I hope you have a great time in Hollywood!

Loved Miss Ronnie's high pitched singing. She should be a fire alarm.
