FOF #398 - Forgiving the Unforgiveable - 09.28.06

How would you react if your mother was killed by your brother? On today's Feast of Fools we sit down to talk with former soap star turned painter and author Thom Bierdz about his new "ART-o-biographical" book "Forgiving Troy" about the healing power of forgiveness.
Listen as we talk with Thom and his boyfriend Steve Callahan about being gay in Hollywood, Thom's desicion to leave the acting world, and why Thom Bierdz is one of the few openly gay former soap actors.

Wow, what a great interview. You've got the Barbara Walters touch, you made your guest cry. I just bought the book! Thom must be self-published because his book was not listed with Amazon.com.
PS: We want photos from LA!!

What a great show! BTW I'm going to the HRC National Dinner where Lance Bass is getting an award. Anything you want me to ask him?

That was one of the most poignant interviews you guys have done--ever. Thom has lived through a lot, and that he has come through it relatively unscathed is a testimony to how well he knows his strength. He is a beautiful person in all possible ways. Thanks for the treat of this show!

great interview guys, heard it on the myspace preview and went ahead and bought the book because i wanna read more about what thom has to say about things.
really powerful stuff and i think that you guys balanced the interview with a good balance of humour as well as flowing into whatever mood was in the room at the same time.
love!
ps. unfortunately, i can't afford to take the time off work or the plane ticket to fly over from malaysia to the meet and greets. so i just have to listen to them. grr.

Thom's total openess was amazing and extremely refreshing; so many interviews these days are promo spiels produced solely to make more money, it was so touching to hear everything about Thom from his creative process to how he copes from one day to the next having lost his mother and a brother.
I only hope I can be as forgiving a person as him someday, preferably without similar events occuring in my life.

What a great show - and what a strong individual Thom is to have endured all of those tragedies and still turn out so positive and a productive member of society. Great for him and Steve! Great show as always, Marc and Fausto!
