FOF #395 - There is Life on Marsian - 09.25.06

Podcast
Is there life on Marsian?
Our delightfully wacky friend, puppetterr and modern-day Truman Capote Marsian DeLellis comes on the show to talk about puppets, studying theater at Cal Arts, gender, the war in Iraq and his friendship with Heather Henson (Yes, as in Jim Henson. She's his daughter.)

Marsian suprised me with these vintage photos of a collaboration installation we did for my MFA thesis exibition at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. They didn't know what to do with us. Marsian and I drove to the suburbs to get spray paint (you can't buy it in the city) and spent two days painting this huge room SILVER and BLUE. The masks didn't work too well, but the results were fantastic. These two photos are the only pictures I know of the installation. Thanks Marsian!

I'm so glad Marsian is back on the show. I still crack up about the last show he was on talking about "drop" and Tom Carvel.

What an awesome show. I really loved Marsian's interview, I hope he comes to the Meet and Greet. Is the show he was on before still in the archives? I'd love to hear that one again.

See y'all in a few days.

Love,
~pup don

Good show, but I can't believe you guys wasted an unbelievably juicy, gossip-bursting item as amazing as Marc's story of propane tanks, designer bears and suicide on a guest who didn't care. That kind of bombshell needs to be saved for a guest who can truly appreciate it and not just one who moves on to their own name-dropping stories with nary a heartfelt "Holy 'S!'" That being said, Marsian is still fabulous and I adored the show.

Great show today guys. I enjoyed listening. Podcasting reminds of the oldn'days when people sat around the radio and to have use their imagination. Your show definetly gives you visusals!!

I didn't really want to share that story it on that show. Perhaps Marsian picked up on that. The story has too many detials to be delivered orally or unrehearsed. I think someday I will have to write it down so that you can grasp many of the nuances. Call me and I'll give oyu all the details.

That last comment was by me addressing Jason's issues. I'd change it, but Moveable Type won't let me!

Today I was laughing so hard, I nearly drove off the road taking a few other motorists with me... Tears were coming out my eyes and I was OK with the fact that if I totaled my car, at least I would have a good reason why, and I figure--hey, if it was that funny it would be great publicity to get all my friends and family to listen!

The man giving me the finger didn't even bother men... a complete rarity in rural Maine!

I have a long ass drive to my second job and I use that time to catch up on all my downloaded FOF. I religiously listen to the show and haven't missed an episode since I started listening in May. Monday-Friday I can't wait for my iTunes to download the next installment and, as a matter of fact, the weekends don't even seem worth it without having a new episode to giggle at...

Really, you should have a disclaimer about driving and listening... the two mix so well that you just might get yourself in trouble. Looks like Geico won't be sponsoring your show anytime soon....

Thanks for all the good laughs!

PS--Where's Amanda? I miss her! And get Cesar on too--I could fall asleep to his voice any night (and I mean in a GOOD way...)

Marc's story was just... wow. I wanna hear the whole thing now. I feel like we got the Readers' Digest version.
