FOF #389 - Hot Latino Blood - 09.15.06

Arnold Schwarzenegger is in heap of trouble, with a sexy twist. The routine process of recording audio from meetings and posting them online as mp3 files for their private staff to access has caused a major political stir when democratic staffers stumbled up them and leak them to the press.
It turns out that the talk on Arnold's private podcast is just as spicy as it is on the Feast of Fools!
On the recording, Arnold speculates about republican state Assemblywoman Bonnie García's ethnicity, talking about how "hot cubans and puertoricans are, because of all the black blood and latin blood they have."
Is this the best they can do? Here is a man who had an opportunity to legally allow gay and lesbian couples to marry in the state of California talking about how sexy he finds latin women AND men with his speech writer. Big deal.
Hate Arnold because he's a lying bigot who thinks of gays and lesbians as political bait, don't hate him because he thinks latinos are hot. Who DOESN'T think puertoricans and cubans are hot?
Join Marc and me as we talk about Madonna's desire to go into outer space, the Russian's desire to send her there, my desire to go with her and why legalizing prostitution helps curb violence, racism and nationalism.
Click here to listen to the audio file in it's entirety. (The spicy stuff is at the end.)
The podcast that is almost as spicy as governor Arnold Schwarzenegger's private conversations- the Feast of Fools.

Boyz! Will your show be compatiable with Microsoft's ZUNE? I want a new toy, but not if you don't come with it!
Here's your chance to influence someones buying power!

P.S.- So if Fausto goes into space with Madonna and do a broadcast back to Earth, it would be the first FM Broadcast from space? Sorry, bad pun... Time to zap myself with my 100k volt stun gun

Okay folks we're 1,999,974 t-shirts away from outer space!
Mike- I've been SCREAMING (yes screaming) that question (will Zune support podcasts? will they call them Zunecasts?) since the day microsoft made their announcement.
As far as I know, they haven't said a thing, which gets me thinking the answer is no. "Computer says no."
That's one of the questions I'll be asking everyone I meet at the podcasters conference in two weeks.
Does anyone know about Microsoft's Zune with regards to podcasts?

Love the show guys! Told my boyfriend about the Feast of Fools. Listening to Feast of Fools really brightens up those dreary days here in Wisconsin. Fausto, Marc, Sal-E, and Miss Ronnie you're awesome!
p.s. from what i understand the governator of Cal-E-fornia was refering to "hot"-blood. But I agree that the real outrage should be directed at politicians who continually use us as scapegoats.

Fausto, you are right - the thin white paper on turrón alicante (the hard version) is rice paper. The communion wafers served in Christian churches are made out of flour. Checking on the internet I found that Roman Catholic people with Celiac disease don't tolerate flour and therefore can't have a wafer put in their mouths during communion. The offical church standing is that communion wafers must be made out of flour because they symbolize 'the staff of life'. Here is the recipe for making Spanish turrón alicante in your own home:
Ingredients:
* 1 kilo Rosemary Honey
* 500 gms sugar
* 2 egg whites
* 1,500 gms almonds, heated up in oven
* 1 lemon
* Slowly heat the honey in a saucepan until all the water that it contains has evaporated.
* Add the sugar and mix with a wooden spatula
* Beat the egg white until stiff and then add to the mixture.
* Stir briskly with the spatula for eight to ten minutes then stir slowly over a low flame until it begins to caramelise (turn brown)
* Put the hot almonds into the honey mixture with the rind of the lemon
* Mix well and let cook slowly for a few minutes taking care it does not stick
* The mixture is then poured into wooden moulds lined with rice paper.
After two and a half hours, the turrón is cut. When it is completely cold, the slices are stored in an airtight container.

Fausto,
I love your new intros for Miss Ronnie and Sal-E! I can't wait until you roll out new intros for the rest of your crazy regulars!
I'm sick of Microsoft with their "Me Too" rollouts. Netscape: "Oh, me too, look at me, Internet Explorer!" QuickTime: "Oh, me too, look at me, Windows Media!" Palm Pilots: "Oh, me too, look at me, Windows Mobile!" MySpace: "Oh, me too, look at me, spaces.msn!" PlayStation: "Oh, me too, look at me, X Box!" iPod: "Oh, me too, look at me, Zune!" iTunes store: "Oh, me too, look at me, Zune store!" When was the last time they had an original thought?

Hey guys,
As always adore your show, but didn't quite enjoy the implicit arab/muslim bashing. I love humor, and especially love making fun of stereotypes and assumptions, but something rubbed me the wrong way with it. I know that you guys certainly did not mean to insult at all, but it's very hard in this period for muslims and arabs in this country, especially for ones with names like you read on the program. Have a good day, and keep up the wonderful podcast, I cherish it!

There is another Christian dating site that is open to glbt and straight people. The site is called UnitySingles.com, and it tends to cater to people in the metaphysical/mystical wing of Christianity, such as Unity, Religious Science, or other New Thought paths. We tend to look at the Christian message differently from mainstream churches, so finding a Christian single of a like mind is challenging, to put it mildly...
According to the site, it is FREE to join and a person can get up to four pictures in a profile, unlimited sending and receiving of emails, and full access to the database of singles. I didn't register, since my partner would probably not understand, but I'm providing this for any other Unitics or New Thinkers out there in the "World's Largest Gay Community." (Amanda Steinstein)
