Podcast
Willi Ninja
just passed away, Steve Irwin got hit by a sting ray and I'm not feeling to good myself.

But the podcast goes on people.

We want to take a moment to acknowledge the incredible contributions that Willi Ninja did to the New York nightclub scene and to the world of dance. Mr. Ninja, a legendary figure in the ballroom community of New York City and one of the featured dancers of the documentary Paris is Burning (a must see) passed away at the age of 44.

Willi Ninja spent the last decade of his life teaching runway models and runaway kids how to walk with style, dignity and class. We were lucky to have been able to meet Mr. Ninja in New York City when we were there last April and know he will be missed by everyone.

On todays show Miss Ronnie joins Marc and I to talk about our fabulous fat bodies, why we all need fashion help bad, the untimely deaths of Steve Irwin and Willi Ninja, and our best wishes to Rosie O'Donnell and her return to daytime television.

Click here to see a movie of Willi Ninja on YouTube.

The podcast that keeps on talking and talking and talking- the Feast of Fools.

PS The Winchester Manchine is in San Jose not San Diego. It's litterally 30 from me but I've never gone. And if you're going to drive from LA to the Bay Area, depending on how you drive it could be anywhere from 4-8 hours. But whatever you do, do not take highway 1 up here. It's the scenic route yes, but it's also longer.

Ronnie,

Don't let the poisonous snakes, spiders, and sharks scare you away from Australia. I spent three weeks there, and absolutely fell in love with the country. If I had to live in any other country on a permanent basis, Australia would be my first choice. As far as the koalas, the ones I saw were docile and quite sweet. It probably has something to do with being stoned on eucalyptus most of the time.

I agree with Fausto that Olivia Newton-John was one of Australia's better contributions to the world, although Hugh Jackman is waaaaay up on the list as well. I also have to agree with all of you that Grease 2 was a travesty. Luckily, Michelle Pheiffer was able to get some good roles and escape the curse of that movie. Maxwell Caulfield and Adrian Zmed were not quite as lucky.

Eh... Who are these people who are sending Miss Ronnie the alarm clock from Hong Kong? Y'all do know in Chinese when you give clock as a gift it means you're going to the funeral of the person you're giving the clock to, right? :-P

As far as death of Steve Erwin, nobody's surprised -- cause he keeps putting himself in those dangerous situations. Surprising they seem not to be prepared for the danger that they put themselves in...

BTW, the thing with his baby only shows that only white folks can get away with stupid crap like that -- if it had been any other people, their careers would be over.

I've got to say I'm really sad about Steve Irwin's death. Yes, we all figured he'd go out that way, but amidst all the craziness and weird stuff he did he was a very enthusiastic educator whose goal was to get people caring about animals. The whole "baby Bob" incident, in my opinion, was blown way out of proportion due to the sensationalism of the media, and contrary to what another listener said above, it did affect his career. I just hope his death will inspire his listeners to take action against animal cruelty and pick up where he left off. As Miss Ronnie would say, "Now that I've depressed everyone to shit...!"

Moist as a snack cake. hee hee, I haven't heard that since the old Strangers With Candy series. Now there is a star that you guys should aim to get on the show...Amy Sedaris. Sure everyone loves her brother these days but it was amy who I really clicked with. and besides she makes great cupcakes.

Three things on the Whaley House in San Diego from someone who was born and raised there:

1) It's not scary. At all. Unless cold drafts from an old building is your idea of scary.

2) The haunted thing is just a tourist trap to get people in the doors. Most of the tour is about San Diego in the 1800s and turn of the century.

3) If you want *real* scary, head down the street to the old graveyard late at night, when Old Town is deserted. It's sandwiched between two tall restaurants , which means it's dark as fuck there.

For more fun ghost stuff, look into the Ghosts and Graveyards Tour. You'll get a twilight tour of all the famous haunted spots in San Diego.

You also mentioned the Winchester House in San Jose. That's too far of a drive for y'all, I'd say, but worth a visit if you're ever in the Bay Area. That place gives me the creeps and I don't even believe in ghosts. Plus, you can take evening tours, whish ups the creep factor by 1,000. I enjoyed it tons.

I went to the Winchester Mystery House for a night-time tour this last Halloween. The house is totally creepy, and it's history is really interesting. Definitely worth a visit, but, unless you're REALLY into the history of a crazy person, not worth a drive from LA. We had a great time but, OH MY GOD, they just DON'T do a very good job of quality control on their tour guides. The girl that we got stuck with was from hell. Imagine the dumpy girl in school that always wore clothes that smelled like cats, generally had dirty hair, played Dungeons & Dragons every chance she got and had NO social skills whatsoever. That's the girl that was our guide. Ok, so maybe all of that wouldn't have been so bad if she was remotely cool or interesting. But noooo,,,she was a freakin' idiot. Her spiel was unbelievable wooden and, therefore, lame, she was wearing a wizard costume (obviously her RPG character), and she insisted on making jokes that caused us to want to kill ourselves. THEN, when she made a joke, she wouldn't move on until someone laughed. Seriously. She would just sort of stand there with a glazed look waiting for a chuckle. That tour was an emotional roller coaster. At various times we were perplexed, stunned, disbelieving, irritated, dismayed, angry, then very angry. Finally she beat us down and we just had to have acceptance. The place was cool despite her, and we enjoyed the next several hours mocking her amongst ourselves - so I guess that was some added entertainment value. You know what, she was sort of a female Napoleon Dynamite.

Sorry about the little trip down memory lane. I guess I still have strong feelings about her, huh?
