FOF #371 - Texas Roundup - 08.21.06

Podcast
Live from Austin, Texas it's the Feast of Fools!
Folks we braved the heat and the chiggers and faced the legions of FOF-fanatics as they came in droves from all over the southern states to meet us face to face!

Photographed to the right is the audience at the event trying to imitate the Zuiikin Gals from the odd Japanese exercise video on YouTube. Stay tuned later this week for more photos from the event.

Listen to today's show as we answer the tough questions our fans posed for us: What would you be doing if you still lived in your hometown? Who have you slept with? Why do you keep your clothes on if Texas is so hot?

You know, the stuff tabloids would publish if we were more macro-celebrities instead of micro-celebrities. Although the tide is turning. When we went out to gay bars, we must have run into at least TEN (count them TEN!) die-hard fans who simply couldn't get out of work to attend the event.

Many thanks to my mom Patricia, César Torres, all the people who showed up, as well as the good folks at the Spider House Cafe who hosted our event and to the sexy young duo known as "Brigante" who played the gypsy music to introduce our show.

Come on down and help yourself to a heapin' helping of the Feast of Fools podcast!

Brigante plays every weekend at the Spider House Cafe in Austin, Texas.

What a lovely podcast. I thought my mum and I had fairly x-rated conversations - but Patricia is obviously the queen of unshockable mums. Great music, too.

Hey, Mike! I can still be shocked, but after all these years, I have become rather immune to shock.. We had fun! Wish you - and all the other FOF fans- had been there with us!

Okay, I'm driving to work today listening to the podcast at full volume with my windows down. I pull into my office building, which we share with a rather conservative company, and I'm driving past the open front door just as Marc, having been describing the gay hanky codes, says (at full volume, mind you) "light blue means YOU WANT TO SUCK SOME COCK".

Well, this should be interesting. LOL!!!

Excellent show so far guys. I hope you had a great time in Texas.

It is always great fun to listen to the show, but to actually see it live is somthing I will never forget. I would also like to say for the record I did not masterbate to Fausto's sweat soaked cum rag. I hung it on the wall instead.

Fausto you are very lucky to have a mother like Patricia. She was so sweet and very funny. It was a real honor to meet her .

You guys are beautiful. Can't wait till the next time you are down here.

Lots of love everyone,

Eric

I love these destination podcasts. Everyone was hilarious! Cesar, keep milking those lesbian tendencies -- we'd be happy to have ya'.

I just googled "gay podcast", and Feast of Fools came up as #1!!! (I don't know if this is old news, but it was new news to me!)

FOF WORLD (wide web) DOMINATION!

bwah ha ha ha haaaaa...

Said by: Maia at August 21, 2006 02:45 PM

Thanks to Eric, the BIG SAUSAGE guy who was such a joy to talk to at the Meet-n-Greet and to his very sweet comments about me! MUA (kiss en Español) to you!
And to those of you who disliked the music or may even have been insulted by it, when I listened to the podcast of the show, I thought to myself, "these guys are saying 'Si ben che siamo donne" - even though we're women"... and I thought, whaat? Do these guys actually know what they're saying?... but then, somehow that song was unwittingly appropriate for a gay podcast... What would Karl Jung call that?

Said by: Patricia Fernós at August 21, 2006 03:29 PM

Quarter Turns for everyone! I had such a good time, but folks, the HEAT was way too hot!

I was suprised at how good the sound quality was for the band though.

Said by: Fausto at August 21, 2006 04:09 PM

Marc, as always nice support for the blue one. Fausto, you really know how to work a crowd. And, Cesar, after all this time on the show, it's hard to believe you were once only an avid listener. You all did a nice job, gents. I look forward to seeing you in California.

Said by: Mike (DMCEx) at August 21, 2006 05:39 PM

Im glag to hear you all had fun. one thing i forgot to say from an earlier Pod cast was Fausto Singing El Toro Relajo that is one of my Favorite songs in Spanich. you could sing that to me any day. Mucho gracias Me amored. im sure thats not the correct spanish spelling but hey i try... Rainbow kisses

Said by: Noe at August 21, 2006 07:15 PM

If you missed the meet-and-greet, make a point of getting to the next one! My partner, Thomas, and I had a great time. Thanks Fausto, Marc, Cesar, and Patricia. You really made us feel like family.

(Just between you and me, in person, Fausto and Marc and Cesar are HOT, HOT, HOT!)

Said by: John Roger in Houston at August 21, 2006 07:50 PM

I just can't believe that Cesar can speak Japanese ;)

Great fun - definitely worth the trip. Everyone (cast and audience alike) was fantastic and fun to talk to.

On a side note: I got home late and went to bed about 5am... and then at 10am sharp the effing local high school marching band came walking down the street playing at top volume!?!? I was peeved and confused. Apparently their version of pre-season training is to play all over town.

Said by: Glen at August 21, 2006 09:11 PM

Hi there John Roger- We thought you were pretty striking yourself! Wish we had more time to get to know you.

Said by: Fausto at August 21, 2006 10:02 PM

Fausto, Mark, Cesar, and of course Patricia, it was so wonderful to meet you all. Justin and I had a great time. I was dumbstruck most of the time. As Eric said, it is one thing to listen, but to watch it being made? As gay as it is, the only thing I can think of is pulling back the power mac and seeing Oz himself (a.k.a. Fausto).

Thanks for the shoutout and the terrible pictures... why couldn't you photoshop that up a bit? Give me a little bit of a tan? Oh well. Thanks again guys,I hope I can make it to another some time!

Ms. Ronnie, Sal-E, and Amanda S. I am so sorry you all were not able to come to Texas. I hope that sometime I will get to meet you larger than life characters. Thanks to all of you for bringing such joy to people.

Patricia: you are the mom that every gay boy wants. Fausto is extremely lucky to have you! Take care in the Texas heat!

Said by: Christopher at August 21, 2006 10:39 PM

I loved listening to the meet-and-greet on today's show, and I am looking forward to making it to one of these in the near future.

I also loved hearing Patricia talk about Fausto's "coming out" story. I guess she helped you in more ways than just getting a good homeschool education...LOL

Said by: David at August 21, 2006 11:32 PM

Awesome show guys, enjoyed every minute of it! Looks like youse had lots of fun! Wish i was there :D lol my favourite part was Patricia talking about Fausto's halarious comming out story ROFL.

by the way thanks for the shoutout!

Said by: Jimmy Yan at August 21, 2006 11:38 PM

Christopher, my mom may be the mom every gay boy wants, but you are the stud every gay man dreams of!

Oh and by the way, I DID photoshop your photos. ;)

Said by: Fausto at August 22, 2006 02:00 AM

That Texas Meet 'N Greet was hotter than the surface of the sun, and that was the hotness radiating from the listeners. It was so great to meet everyone, and you guys really showed how much love you got down in the lone-star state. Thanks so much again!

And yes, I do know me some Japanese. Meeto ando gu-ree-to tanoshikatta desu!!!

Said by: Cesar at August 22, 2006 09:54 AM

:(
Damn, i thought that was natural...

Said by: Christopher at August 22, 2006 12:52 PM

So, Fausto, what kinds of Photoshop treatments do you do for pictures?

Said by: David at August 22, 2006 01:23 PM

First he wants to be retouched, and when he finds out he HAS been retouched, he gets dissapointed.

Let's face it folks, pictures never can capture the real thing. There are a ton of factors (lens quality) that can dramatically improve a person's appearance in a photo, for example.

What I usually do in photos is try to even the levels in the image, sharpen them a little, try to take out a couple of blemishes and whenver possible even out the skin tones. Sometimes hair, necks, eyes, and even ears look a little weird (note how many fingers Marc has in the cocktail photos) so we go in and try to fix that, but if the results look weird or not like the person, I usually stay away from that.

If you ever want me to retouch your head shots, email me! I'm very reasonable and fast.

Said by: Fausto at August 22, 2006 04:42 PM

I'm so glad I came out to meet you three! It has greatly enhanced my listening experience, I didn't know you radiated such sexuality in person.

I'll start working on a way to get to the LA M&G!

Said by: Sean in St. Pete at August 22, 2006 07:45 PM

Of course the photos I take never need retouching. Because I use a camera that only sees "inner beauty." BWAH HAHAHAHA!

Said by: Jason at August 22, 2006 08:22 PM

Sean you radiated yourself! Cheers!

Said by: Cesar at August 22, 2006 11:26 PM

What a great live pod cast! I loved the music and the talking to the crowd. And thank you for sprucing up my fave intro phrase. Who wants just FOF gravy when you can have chicken friend steak with it?! :-)

Cesar, when you were in Japan, where did you live? I was there for about two years in the early 90's (also teaching English) on the Japan Sea in Hyogo prefecture.
