This was the best opening sequence ever... Putting the "glo" back in polyglot.

I love all y'all's peaches! ¡Me gusta all y'all's duraznos!

So happy to hear Cesar is back. Cesar sans cesse!

Definitely habichuelas! But then again, my mom's from Vieques. Is that a PR thing?

Yes it is Rich!

Maia, I missed you too! And to clarify, cacahuate and aguacate are words derived from nahuatl, the language of the Aztecs. So, those words are native to Mexico. Most other Spanish speaking countries use the word mani, which I always liked! Great word.

I think both "frijoles" and "habichuelas" are correct. Personally, I'd agree with Cesar in that I call beans frijoles. But in researching this a little bit it seems that "habichuelas" is a term that is used by the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico. That may be the case with "pavo" and "guajolote" as well. Though, for me, I tend to think of the former as turkey when it's prepared as a meal, whereas the latter I would use to refer to the actual turkeys running around. Now, as far as cacahuates go, I have no idea what Fausto called them but I'd never heard that term before. Though I'm sure he's also correct. You see? Everyone's a winner at the Feast of Fools! *hug* (Thanks again for the shout out, Fausto! You're my hero, uh, heroin, um...yeah...)

Hey guys! Its Nick. I wanted to know why Clay thought that the dude he fucked was going to keep quiet. Also I sent the video again and I sent a reminder message. Just make sure you watch the whole thing and then respond.

...I'm still waiting.

MUCH love,

The joy of coming back to town after a summer vacation is getting to listen to a bunch of FOF's back-to-back (takes the sting out of being back at work).

Especially when Cesar is on... my favorite! Yeast "...infection?" had me laughing all day.

(Disclaimer: Kids, yeast infections are no laughing matter.)

Thanks, Fausto, for posting all the photos from Market Days -- we were sad we had to miss it this year, so it was fun to vicariously experience the public drunkenness and sunburn...

Said by: Maia at August 11, 2006 10:37 AM

Hey, César et al - you guys been in América too long! You MISSED a chance to make a fun SEX double entendre(do you get my FRANCH?) - my mother couldn't go to the market in Mexico and ask for eggs 'huevos' because in Spanish-speaking countries that's the word for testicles, so she always asked for 'blanquillos', little white things! ¡Qué cómico!

BTW - darling listeners, PLEASE write Fausto/Marc and let them know you're attending FOF meet-n-greet in Austin so we have PLENTY of room for everybody... Sank you verry moch!

These are the Ramadan dates, according to the internet:

1st Ramadan (Fasting Begins) September 24
Lailatul-Qadr (Night after 26th Ramadan) October 19

Fausto, that book report, you have it in all those things I gave you, remember? I gave you everything I had saved all those years...

Said by: Patricia Fernós at August 13, 2006 03:17 PM

Oh man, I totally out-gayed Fausto's book report!

Earlier this year, for my Media and Film Studies course, I had to write a huge essay on a movie of my choice. Being the big 'mos that we are, my friend Jonny and I chose the newly released 'Brokeback Mountain', cross referencing with shows like 'Ellen', 'Buffy' and 'The L Word'.

Biggest Les Ever!

Funniest part, is that our teacher still didn't get that I was gay. Maybe if I'd written about Thirteen or South of Nowhere or something.

Much love xx
