FOF #338 - Proud Bytches - 06.28.06

Podcast
This week has been a very good week for the Feast of Fools podcast.
For us personally, it's been HELL!

Okay, here is why it's been good: Star Jones has left "the View" TV show, Michael Jackson is offically moving to Europe, and Rush Limbaugh has been caught once again with possesing illegal prescription drugs.

We also had a really REALLY good time hanging with the George Takei and his partner Brad Altman, as well as marching in the Chicago Pride Parade and seeing tons of our fans and hopefully making new ones.

Listen to todays show as Marc, César and myself reflect and reminsice about the Parade and the sexy and interesting people we met along the route! Check out the all the pride parade pics, thanks to Wendy Malley of the GabberJaw podcast for taking the photos.

Yeah it's true I can do so much...

Said by: RevDj at June 28, 2006 09:31 AM

DJ, you and I need to be both on the same episode so we can represent our people equally! The public is finally ready, I think!

And all right, Fausto -- Maybe Tribbles aren't exactly pink, but I think we can easily say the Torres modification is more aesthetically pleasing, spicy and fun.

Let the church say A-MEN.... !!!!!!

Said by: REVDJ at June 28, 2006 11:30 AM

We can start our own version of the RAINBOW P.U.S.H. Coalition....lol

Said by: REVDj at June 28, 2006 11:33 AM

[on Salon.com today:]
Jerry Falwell, founder and chairman of the Moral Majority Coalition, on how to get ahead in Hollywood: "You know, you almost got to be a homosexual to be recognized in the entertainment industry anymore."

... Yeah, it seems to go over better than being a fat-ass bigoted blowhard. Maybe Jerry and Rush should become fisting buddies, to try to boost their ratings.

Eeeewwwww!

Said by: maia at June 28, 2006 12:44 PM

Do you think you might be able to interview Star Jones for a future podcast?!? I was slightly disappointed you didn't go into more on her.

I also can't seem to get "I wanna be your magic window" out of my head either!

Said by: Buddy at June 28, 2006 12:45 PM

DJ, we are going to be the United Front of People of Color on the FOF!

Raza! Power to the People!

Said by: Cesar at June 28, 2006 01:00 PM

I like that UNITED Front of People of Color.. "UNPOC" showyaright baby!!! I can dig it..lol

Said by: REVDj at June 28, 2006 01:25 PM

oh César, you were only a lesbian for 2 minutes, and now it's over?? I was so excited to have you join us on the island! (of Lesbos, that is.)

Please come back for a visit sometime...

Said by: maia at June 28, 2006 01:54 PM

Do not fear, Maia. I think my lesbian journey is just beginning. I won't let a poet ho like Ro shut down my lesbian sho'.
Did you like my rhyme?

Said by: Cesar at June 28, 2006 02:34 PM

That 'crispy creme' song is addictive! Every time I hear it that 'crispy creme' part just goes round and round in my head x love the pride pics x

Said by: Gary C at June 28, 2006 03:44 PM

Oh girl, do NOT get me started on Rosie... that Ro ho is a bee in my afro. arrrrrgh. Yes, I do like your poem -- a hell of a lot better than Rosie's! Being of the Sapphic persuasion, you know I appreciate a lyric turn of phrase.

Spondee and trochee are two of my favorite words.

And thank you to you and DJ for bringing more color to our ears. Push on, Rainbow PUSH! I was so pissed when WBEZ changed their afternoon line-up and took Ed Gordon off the air. I mean, this is CHICAGO, can we get some black news here, please!

p.s. for full disclosure, I'm white and freckly. But according to Jessica, a 5th grade student on the west side who was one of my favorite students in after-school tap dance class, I'm black! That was one of my proudest moments.

Said by: maia at June 28, 2006 03:57 PM

Well Ms. Maia make sure your honorary "black card" is with you at all times, you might be tested on you level of soul...lol ;)kisses.....

Said by: Revdj at June 28, 2006 04:33 PM

If in doubt, I can belt out a mean "Lift Ev'ry Voice and Sing."

And César, if you're going to get very far on your lesbian journey, you'd better make sure you have your papers too! At least a visa or something.

I have dual citizenship, so I have my Lesbian passport and my American passport.

Said by: maia at June 28, 2006 05:16 PM

I haven't actually listened to this one yet because I was a little behind. Forgive me.

Fausto - I just watched your "Blind Date With Esther" videocast and you remind me so much of an infinitely more attractive version of my most recent teeny bopper crush's boyfriend. That asshole turned my super cute top into a big nelly bottom. The fucker! Whatever though. I need to find me a rich man to buy me an Audi convertible.

You guys kick ass. What a great show to welcome me to the world of podcasts.

Said by: Michael at June 28, 2006 07:02 PM

Michael who doesnt need a rich man to buy them an Audi convertible? IN our case, make it a Toyota Prius (those hybrid cars that get fabulous miles per gallon)

Work it! Aww yeah.

Maybe César and DJ can be the Mexican and Black supermen for Halloween? As hot as Brandon Routh was, I would have been just as happy seeing Boris Kodjoe (the super sexy man from Madea's Family Reunion) in the role as well. He's REALLY hot.

Said by: Fausto at June 28, 2006 07:52 PM

Thanks for the shoutout Fausto!! I screamed your name so hard I think the whole area heard me. :)

I had a great time at the parade... but I would have loved to have been there with you.

I saw you too, Cesar... but I screamed so loud for Fausto that I didn't have any voice left. :)

And a shout out to Victoria LaMarr who I shared a trian ride down to the parade with...

Said by: RcktMan at June 29, 2006 02:13 AM

Oh, well. I guess I fall into the category of people who's got partner/husband/boyfriend who couldn't get into the FOF. My partner listen to a couple of episodes with me when we were driving some where -- he said it's o.k.; talk radio-type shows are just not his cup of tea. He's really into music in a big way.

Thanks for another fabulous show...

Said by: Lucas at June 29, 2006 03:44 AM

DJ, you heard Fausto. We are going to be Supermen. I gotta save up for my cape and tights, because I want better quality than the ones you get at Wal-Mart. I will be a high-class Superman. And so will you!

Rocketman, I saw you! I think you were in the Chicago Tribune, too. Keep the flame alive! Love ya!

Said by: Cesar at June 29, 2006 07:13 AM

Thanks for the tampon at the parade, Mark! I gave it to my cat, Prince, to play with. He has been batting it around all week. Very funny!

"Miss Bunny"

Said by: Miss Bunny at June 29, 2006 10:14 AM

It's true, people from Michigan are frackin' weird. I know because I'm one of them. But I'm weird in the good way.

Said by: Ben at June 29, 2006 12:17 PM

My weirdness was (in)bred into me in the hills of Tennessee. Michigan actually calmed me down a bit. Scary, no?

Said by: David at June 29, 2006 11:05 PM

oh my goth, this was a great show...i loved your parody song about not-such-a-boy george, and i loved how you slammed on Star Jones, i saw an episode of the View the other day and she looked like Skeletor with a weave! good riddance! also i looked up Chyna's clit on google images, i think it was photoshopped, that can't possibly be real!

still waiting for my t-shirt, my neighbors are mail stealing ghetto hoochies

love,
raequel

Hey guys! Thank you for finally talking about Little Britain!! I've been picking up on Little Britain quotes these past couple weeks on your show, but you haven't mentioned it til now. You NEEEEEEED to see both seasons, and don't miss the stuff on the DVDs that didn't get aired. It's SOO foul it's genius.

Can't wait to see you both in LA!

much love,
Mike J
