FOF #332 - Cock Soup for the Soul - 06.20.06

Podcast
We were just relaxing, soaking in the ol' jacuzzi
when our agent and gal pal Amanda Sylvia Steinstein dropped by to deliver the bad news that she might be going to jail.

It seems that sweet little Miss S. has had a horrible traffic ticket that has somehow escalated into a misdemeanor, and she's all upset that she might have to serve time in prison in Bumkinville. Poor Amanda! Fortunately Amanda has a wonderful father who suprises us all with a phone call. Did the apple fall far from the tree? You decide.

Meanwhile, Marc is all excited about some "Cock Flavoured Soup" that he found at the local Mexican grocery store. Pictured to the right is Marc hold the soup packet close to his crotch. And in case you were wondering, there is a "Cock Soup for the Soul" book as well. You can buy in from Amazon.com by clicking here.

On today's show we also talk a lot about dealing with the law, scary Russian clowns, candy, Beyonce getting her ass whipped by PETA, and the results of eating fish n' chips for your entire life.

Thanks to Mike Hipp from Soy Candles by Phebes who sent us a huge box of crazy candles and candy! Be a pal and buy a soy candle from him.Mike has a hot twin that he does not fuck. So pity him and buy some candles.

W.W.J.G.D.? What Would Jake Gyllenhaal Do? He'd download the Feast of Fools podcast, of course. And get himself a Feast of Fools t-shirt too!

Hi Guys, Just a comment to say thanks for the T-shirt! I love it! You guys have done a great job in entertaining me, I hope it buys more bandwidth for me to enjoy.

But what's this I see -new T-shirts!!
(and does anyone write "T-shirt" anymore? Perhaps it isn't capped-up: t-shirt? no, don't like the look of that...teeshirt? God I can't do this without a spellchecker help! - (Now I'm wandering off topic -focus!) (What's with all the bracket anyways? (I used to program in lisp, perhaps that's it?)) Yeah the T-shirt is lovely, and lovingly made. Note to others I ordered a large but large is VERY-LARGE and if your the sort of gal that likes a tight-T (seventies-look?) then drop a size. If you are Pacific Islander it'll be fine.

Anyway I saw this great thing on you tube and I was wondering had you guys seen it?

PAPA, CAN YOU HEAR ME~!?!?

Please keep Mr. Silverstein as a guest. He and his daughter are a great two-MAN show!

Said by: Glenn at June 20, 2006 08:24 AM

Hi Fausto, Marc and Amanda. Thank you for all the great shout outs and plugs for me and John and Soy Candles by Phebes today!

Really enjoyed the Amanda's father thing... If I had to guess what he sounded like, I would have guessed just what we heard.

Said by: mike hipp at June 20, 2006 08:44 AM

Belive me Mike, I was just as shocked as anyone to learn they almost sounded like fraternal twins! Oy vey indeed. Papa can you hear me? Glen, that's hilarious!!!

Said by: Fausto at June 20, 2006 09:02 AM

So what do you need to add to the cock soup? A little sausage?

Hilarity on steroids on this episode.

Said by: Cesar at June 20, 2006 10:03 AM

mmm cock flavor... and its grace brand!

Said by: uibriain at June 20, 2006 10:47 AM

Amanda = Great.

Amanda + her Dad = Better yet.

Nice show you do, "Ship of Fools".

Said by: Mike (DMCEx) at June 20, 2006 11:40 AM

I think it's awesome the way Amanda's "father" has embraced her choice to live as a woman. It must be hard in these trying times of ours to live true and proud. Best of luck to you aMANda. Or would that be...A man, duh!

p.s. "Feast of Fools, the podcast that doesn't look Puerto Rican."

Said by: Jason at June 20, 2006 01:10 PM

Mr. Steinstein is lovely. He reminds me of my third-grade Jewish teacher's father. So sweet and caring and perhaps a bit out of there. "Ship of Fools!" Haha. I swear that he and Amanda are doubles though: they compliment each other perfectly.

(And yes, I think everybody in the world loves Amanda! I hope she doesn't have to spend time in a jail cell. That would be sad.)

This show was quite amusing. It was a nice variance from the Spanish-infused podcast yesterday. (I loved Cesar! Make sure he comes back on.) Not to mention stereotypes are always fun. You gotta love the bumpkins. I hear a lot of that type of stereotyping. However, I haven't heard a lot for Indiana. More of the deep south. I guess Wisconsin has it's far share of hick-ish people. Especially up north where guns, venison, and football dominate life.

I love cock, but being vegetarian, I would not eat the said cock-flavored soup. I don't like eating chickens. Lovely show as always. I eagerly await for the one tomorrow!

Much, much love!

Said by: Kyle at June 20, 2006 01:57 PM

You guys! You are so crazy!

I swear on a stack of Torahs that that was my real dad on the phone. He's been a fan for a long time.

And Jason, perhaps you missed the show where I came out as a straight woman-born-woman, but there it is. Sorry to disappoint.

I think every state has its hicks, whether they be yinzers, hoosiers, aggies, downstaters, yoopers, yokels, clodhoppers, hayseeds, rustics, backwoodsmen, peasants, hillbillies, or Puerto Ricans! (just kidding, Fausto!)

Kisses,

I think it's safe to say that no one has made a negative comment about Amanda Steinstein because nothing bad honestly be said about her. We love and appreciate you, Amanda. Keep coming back for more great episodes.

P.S. Next time I'm out in western Mass. (heaven forbid I'm ever faced with such a tragedy :) ) I'll stop by your dad's house and give him a big FOOLish hug. Hehe.

Said by: Milton in NYC at June 20, 2006 05:42 PM

I love the star trek thing that Timmy Jackson posted, even Spok gets his goove on lol.

Said by: Gary C at June 20, 2006 05:48 PM

OMG, Amanda, you said "Yinzers"! Looks like you still have fond memories of Pittsburgh! :P

I think I went out with a guy from Indiana once. I'm not sure but the whole time we were having sexy he kept yelling, "Hoosier Daddy?"

Love you guys, keep up the excellent show!

Love,
pup don

Said by: pup don at June 20, 2006 05:50 PM

So Amanda's dad lives in Western Massachusetts? This is incredibly funny because I will be in western Massachusetts beginning in August. I wonder where he is. :P

And Amanda, of course we're joking. Well, at least I know some people are. Swearing on a stack of Torahs is pretty serious stuff.

Love you Amanda!

(Oh and pup don, he yelled out "Hooiser Daddy?" Haha....that is hilarious!)

Said by: Kyle at June 20, 2006 07:58 PM

I am so glad I'm not the only person that has a package of cock flavoured soup in their cabinet.

Of course, I had my daughter and bestfriend's daughter with me at the grocery store when I discovered this little gem of an item, and promptly proceded to call everybody I know and very loudly proclaim for all to know that I had found COCK flavoured soup, in the middle of the grocery store.

Said by: April at June 20, 2006 11:18 PM

I have to shamefully admit that I found Amanda Steinstein to be a bit annoying the first time I heard her. Then I discovered that she's a scifi geek, so I started paying attention to her more. Now she's my favorite FoF regular guest!

Said by: Anna at June 20, 2006 11:48 PM

Another laugh-out-loud hilarious show... I just want to be in the same room as you three sometime just to feel all that crazy energy. It has to be hilarious just to see it all happen.

Which reminds me... I still owe you and Marc (and Amanda and whoever else you want to invite) dinner! Just name the date and I'll bring the homemade pasta and meatballs. (Sorry Mike Brazell, not a veggie here!)

I'll be looking for you guys at the Parade... I'll be in an apartment above Kafka Wine drinking jell-o shots and getting drunk. WHEEE :)

Said by: RcktMan at June 21, 2006 01:33 AM

Amanda. I know! Ask Fausto about the depth of my knowledge of the FoF and you will gasp with delight...Or scream in horror, I'm not quite sure which yet.

Fausto Marc, nice Ship of Fools show today but I must say I take umbrage at the whole book premise. A real gay man would not take the “centre aisle” he would push his freaking way through.

Said by: Eric at June 21, 2006 06:45 AM

UG, just the fact that that guy from Indiana got so offended by an off-hand remark proves, ironically, that he is a dumb hick. Ever heard of sarcasm sweetie? Ever heard of tongue in cheek? Ever heard of taking things with a grain of motherf@#*in salt? OK I'm done venting.

Said by: Ryan A. at June 21, 2006 07:20 AM

thank you sooooo much for the shout out to my bf. It made both our days for his birthday!! You guys are awesome. We love you and thanks again for all the smiles and laughs! =0)

Can you guys make some Free Amanda Steinstein shirts? Or bumper stickers?...

Said by: maia at June 21, 2006 04:22 PM

I still haven’t found that definition of Hoosier; I did make a trip to my library. Yes, we have a few here in Indiana. What did occur to me later is that they do update the damn things. I do not doubt that it said that at one point.

Ryan, guess it’s a good thing I don’t know the meaning of sarcasm. Thanks.

Thank you for addressing my concern. Glad to hear Fausto would f*ck me, that made my day.

Amanda, good luck with your court date. I hope it all turns out okay. I’m glad you’re alright. Love you on the show.

Taking it all with a grain of salt from here on out.

Said by: Jonathan in Indiana at June 22, 2006 01:10 AM

I just got around to listening to this show. (I'm a little behind.)

I also love the Sesame Chicken at Ping Pong! And I love Kathy Griffin! I just watched that show where she had the weekend guest auction winner (again, a little behind). Wow, was he boring. And he totally didn't appreciate how she was going out of her way to try to make the experience cool for him. Loser! I wish I could have traded places with him.

Anyway, great show. Loved Amanda and the surprise guest Mr. Steinstein.

Said by: Josh at June 22, 2006 08:34 PM
