FOF #327 - Eat, Drink and Be Fabulous - 06.12.06

We had meant to grab something to eat at the ol' Nugét D'Or (Golden Nugget) and then we discovered the brand new gay gay gay hamburger joint here in our neck of woods of Chicago, Hamburger Mary's.
One of our long lost Feast of Fools pals, our favorite waitress in Andersonville Audrey Middaugh now works at Hamburger Mary's serving up delicious hamburgers with an extra side of sass. No charge of course.
Coincidentally we ran into the suprisingly cute and sexy co-owner of Hamburger Mary's Brandon Wright (Mr. Right to you) who runs and operates the joint with his identical twin brother (identical in every single way, if you know what we mean.)
Join me, your flaming blue pal named Fausto and sexy brown-eyed boyfriend named Marc as we go out of the house to grab something to eat and take you along for the ride!
Check out Hamburger Mary's website and pay them a visit for some fabulous burgers. Be sure to plan ahead, since they are PACKED.

Mary's is a great place to take your sister Talia for a goodbye meal, Fausto! That was a delightful program! What about inviting them to have their website connect up to yours just as you did to theirs? Mami

Yeah there a Hamburger Mary's in San Diego, Ca in the HILLCREST area. I wonder if it's the same owner, I haven't listened yet so you probably alright answer my question..

Just the type of fun and informative podcast I've come to expect from the Feast of Fools. I feel like I am getting to know Chicago through you, so when I finally get to visit, I'll know all the greatest places to go and have some good gay fun!

Why didnt the guy from Hamburger Mary's serve you two? Didn't he want to for you guys to talk about the food on the show?

Daryl- No kidding! A place called Hamburger Mary's and we couldn't get a Hamburger? How nuts is that? But really, after 20 years in the restaurant business, nothing surprises me. Something like 90% of new restaurants aren't there 5 years later.
I realize that the place is new and working some kinks out, but they are better off just closing the kitchen at a certain hour rather than serve something other than burgers. You should always stick with your core business.
Don't worry though we got our burgers at the Golden Nugget. Cuz like our beauty Miss Ronnie says "What one bitch won't do, another one will!"
I have to say though, Brandon was very hot and I can't wait to see what his brother looks like and who is hotter.

The Hamburger Mary's in San Diego is really good, and the crowd is always fun. We have one in West Hollywood that is often packed. They have really good burgers. A lot of places have a special late night menu, but it is odd that there would be any time you couldn't get a burger at a place with "burger" in the name. LOL!
These are my favorite types of shows because it really gives you a "slice of life" profile on what an evening out with Fausto and Marc might be like. I love movies and TV shows like this too.

It's the place to go when coming back from club. Oh I remember my days San Diego...mmm
Said by: RevDJ at June 12, 2006 02:54 PM
To be fair, they did say they were going to soon expand the burger menu into the late night menu.

FUCK Hamburger Mary's. Don't name your god damn business that if you're not going to fucking serve fucking god damn fucking hamburgers. Just kidding...But seriously the one in Philadelphia is closed. I wonder if they had similarly high hopes when they started? Hmmmm...
Fausto/Marc I would have made way more fun of the fact that you couldn't get what you wanted instead of doing an advertisement for them for the whole show.
: )

...or at least insisted on getting a Quarter-Turns burger!
Said by: Jason at June 12, 2006 05:19 PM
Quater turns burger? That's hilarious. THE QUARTER TURNS BURGER: it will fill every one of your walls. The walls of your stomach, that is.

I had no idea that version of "Rocket Man" was on tv. I use to have the song on my iPod, when I had an iPod.

such a fun little trip to a burger shop. Other then wanting to slap someone for no burgers being served, it seems like you guys where having fun and that the co-owner you met is fun to hang with. and what a =bout the Feast of fools burger? would it have blue food coloring on the bun? hmm...I'll have to think over that.

As the one who uses the name "Rocket Man" as his handle, I find that Shatner version stomach-turning... but not enough to feature it on my blog a few months ago. :) The fact that Bernie Taupin actually introduced it just proves all the more that the 70s were a really... REALLY... long long time ago. :)
Now what's all this about Hamburger Mary's not having hamburgers? I just got home from work and haven't listened to the show yet (yeah I know, so sue me!) but that just struck me as very odd. Still, it's worth checking out. Especially if the guys are cute. :)

Fausto and Marc,
My husband and I have been listening for a month now. We love you guys. By the way, We love Caesar too. Can't you ladies just get along. I love everyone. Miss Ronnie, V-Marr, and especially Amanda. You guys should come down and see us in Atlanta sometime. I am spreading the word about you guys down here. I ordered and shirt and plan on wearing it to Gay Pride this weekend. (If it comes on time.) Keep up the good work you guys.
Love,
Cliff and Glen

How can I put this kindly, Cesar was spineless, hypersensitive, and a choker. Everytime he gave his opinion and you (fausto) chimed in with your own he would retract his point and agree with you rather than standing his ground. Also in an effort to explain the pregnant pauses that would follow any question you asked him, you pointed out that he was skillfully constructing his answers over in that genius brain of his, but I don't buy it. The dude just didn't have an answer to give you. Most importantly he CHOKED when you gave him free reign to ask any salaciously deep and probing questions about marc and you. Que mala y annoying! What a wasted opportunity to let this fanatic get the real juice on F&M. I heard him say "i don't know" so many GD times I wanted to reach through my ipod and smack him myself (on the ass that is, because despite his verbal ineptitude and cognitive deficiency he IS pretty cute). Anyway I wouldn't feel right letting that interview slip away without setting the record straight on Cesar. Love you guys-even Cesar, Sid
