FOF #319 - Popping Fresh - 05.31.06

We're still trying to get over the outrageous claim that televangelist Pat Roberton also known as the American Osama Bin Laden can leg press 2000 lbs, due to drinking his special "Age Defying Shake."
We say bring it on. I would love to see this hateful, brittle, racist man snap his legs in two as he vainfully tries to leg press a ton. The weight of a small car on this man's legs would at least break his kneecaps. Check out this video where he leg presses 1000 lbs. Ouch!
Just to give you an idea of what 2000 lbs. is, world powerlifter and bodybuilding champion Ronnie Coleman's record is 2,300.
It's not surprising to anyone that Pat Robertson is going around claiming supernatural feats of strength. He is someone who is WAY out of touch with reality, and has a inflated sense of self-importance. And you thought YOU spent too much time in front of the mirror.
In 1992 Pat wrote in a fundraising letter: "The feminist agenda is not about equal rights for women. It is about a socialist, anti-family political movement that encourages women to leave their husbands, kill their children, practice witchcraft, destroy capitalism, and become lesbians." Charming!
Click here for an delicious assortment of Pat's thoughts. Look, it's a SLOW news week, okay?
Also on this show, lots of talk about why the elderly are getting STD's (it's because of Viagra), breastfeeding civil disobedience, why the Gay Games is a scam, and why sometimes the open source model for collaboration can become a small fiefdom.

Click here to contribute to the Feast of Fools entry on Wikipedia. Special thanks goes out to Zara Tromans for helping to save our wikipedia entry from oblivion.
Does anyone know why we sometimes don't appear in the search bar at all?

FOF #318 - Live at the Apple Store - 05.30.06

The good people at Apple Computer asked us to record our show at the Apple Store in the beautiful downtown Michigan Avenue location as a way to promote our program to new audiences, and for the cache of recording the show in front of a live audience.
Okay, I'll admit that Marc and I are both big geeks at heart, despite our saavy ways and dashing looks (and humble demeanors) and the exciting possiblity of recording our show in front of a live studio audience was too good to pass up. We really wanted to put the rainbow back into the Apple Logo, which for many years has been just a solid color.
Although the audio quality leaves a lot to be desired on this (we tried folks) you can still hear the enthusiasm in the audience's laughter and the nervousness in our voices as we walked the tightrope of podcasting and recorded our show in front of a live studio audience.
Listen as Amanda Steinstein talks about online photo/dating tips, V-Marr talks about about why gay men dress up in drag, Miss Ronnie speaks from the heart, and me, Fausto and Marc give thanks to some of the gay, lesbian and trannie legends that came before us to where we are today.

FOF Video #6 - A Blind Date with Esther - 05.29.06

We don't really know how my virtual blind date with Elton John got turned around into a virtual blind date with Madonna.
Not only is her tour across America meant to promoting her new album "Confessions on a Dance Floor" Madonna (or "Esther" as she likes to be called on the Sabbath) but her new tell-all book about motherhood.
This video capture of the conference was part of our very special Feast of Fools LIVE recording (which will be up later this week) done at the Apple Store on North Michigan Avenue on Saturday May 27th. Check out the video capture of the lovely date I had with the material girl (or woman) herself!
Happy Memorial Day! Try to remember the important things in life, like wacky drag queens and cheap red haired wigs. We'll be back tomorrow with a very special Feast of Fools podcast from the Apple Store!

FOF #317 - Queens of Babble On and On - 05.26.06

We've been busy little beavers getting ready for the Apple Store LIVE recording tomorrow and so Sal-E, Victoria Lamarr, Ryan Slasinsky, and Marc and I decided to put down our glitter, all our crazy stuff and decided to put together a show, all FIVE OF US!
Today lots of gory details about Ryan's infected nipple piercing, the gay gay gay moment on television on American Idol where auditioner Michael Sandecki gets to sing "Don't Let The Sun Go Down on Me" with NOT openly gay Clay Aiken onstage on the final American Idol show, pretty much obliterating any interest in the contest itself and the winner. WHO won? Who cares? All we can wonder is who was repsonsible for making this moment happen and where do we send the bouquet of roses?
Pictured on the right is Clay Aiken and Michael Sandecki singing together. They turned the volume down on Michael quickly into the number.
Lots of talk about pot, chocolate, lemonade, and new advances in science as well, but thats not what's really important now, or is it?
Only ONE more day! Come see a live recording of the Feast of Fools podcast at the Apple Store, Saturday May 27th from 7-8pm! Best of all it's FREE, and an ALL AGES SHOW!

FOF #316 - I Eat Your Brain - 05.25.06

Marc loves zombies. Don't ask me why. He and Leslie Hall, who sings Zombie Killer are big zombie fans. So much that Marc came up with another catchphrase for our show based on Oprah's Legend Ball. Listen to it and tell us if you think its funny or dumb.
On today's show the the most beautiful woman (on the internet) Victoria Lamarr joins us to talk about the world's sexiest vegetarian. No it's not the vegetarian bodybuilder Mike Brazell (although we think he should at LEAST been considered for the title.) And of course they had to give the title to both a man and a woman, but where does that leave the veggie trannies?
Lots of talk about the Da-Vinci Code, crazy stork news, mental illness, vager badgers and a special phone call from our George W Bush impersonator! Listen and find out his TRUE identity.
Only 2 more days! Come see a live recording of the Feast of Fools podcast at the Apple Store, Saturday May 27th from 7-8pm! Best of all it's FREE, and an ALL AGES SHOW!

FOF Archive - Riding Rosie - 05.24.06

We've been busy trying to get ready for the Apple Store event on Saturday, so please enjoy this classic Feast of Fools episode: "Riding Rosie."
One of our most requested shows, "Riding Rosie" was originally posted May 5, 2005.
Listen to our play by play coverage of Rosie O'Donnell's triumphant return to television, as she plays an autistic woman who's father dies and needs her uptight sister (played by Andie McDowell) to take care of her and reconcile their differences (fat/skinny, rich/poor, straight/gay, vanilla/freaky, ikea/michaels arts and crafts)
Also, Victoria Lamarr talks about her theatrical troupe, Scrap Mettle Soul, a theater company composed mostly of the mentally and physically disabled, as well as several homeless people. What a gay podcast!
The revolution will not be televised, but it's now available for download FREE on iTunes Music Store in the form of the Feast of Fools podcast.

FOF #315 - Irish Eyes are Smiling - 05.23.06

Our good fan and friend Fergal Breen pictured on the right, was the listener who traveled the furthest to meet us face to face when we had our Meet N' Greet event in New York City last April.
We TOLD Fergie- "Plan on coming a day earlier, so in case your plane is delayed, you will still make it." He didn't listen to us and of course his plane was delayed. Nevertheless we were able to meet up with him and we had a lovely time on our last day in the city of Law and Order, Special Victims Unit.
On today's show Marc and I talk to Fergal and Jordanne over the phone about our show, and about Oprah Winfrey's Legends Ball which we recorded last night. Lots of discussion on gay role models and who inspires me to do the crazy things I do.
Come see a live recording of the Feast of Fools podcast at the Apple Store, Saturday May 27th from 7-8pm! Best of all it's FREE.
Check out these awesome NEW photos taken on our last day in New York City this past April 2006.

FOF #314 - Castraticast - 05.22.06

We're so excited because today we have one of the world's oldest and most famous Castrati, the incomparable Alessandro Moreschi, pictured on the right. Click on the audio file at the bottom of the Wikipedia page for Moreschi to hear him sing. It's freaky.
Alessandro joins his lesser known Castrato singing buddies, Carlo Cortaballi and Benito Nonutzis to talk about his new album of religious music.
Also Marc, Fausto and V-Marr talk tons about suicide, gay teens, Star Trek's up and coming 40th anniversary events, Christie's Star Trek garage sale, and Albert Perry the 75 year old bodybuilder, pictured here.
If you're a gay teen contemplating suicide, call The Trevor Project- operates the nation's only round-the-clock, toll-free suicide prevention hotline for GLBTQQ youth. (1-866-4-U-Trevor)

Damn you sho is ugly!
I just had to make this composite to illustrate how much Hayden and the Warner Bros. cartoon Egghead Jr. look like each other.
Is he doing the "Black Power" salute?
For those of you who didn't grow up watching the Bugs Bunny/Warner Brother cartoons, Egghead Jr. was the son of the widow that Foghorn Leghorn was always trying to impress so he could, I say he could live in her air-conditioned hen house.
General Hayden is the twerp President Bush appointed to the head of the CIA who thinks spying on the American public is legal. Just cause you say your face isn't a disgrace doesnt make it so.
As Daffy Duck would say, "You're disssthpickable."

FOF #313 - Climb Every Mountie - 05.19.06

If today's supposed to be the happiest day of the year then why do we feel so lousy?
According to the Ananova.com newsource, "experts" say today is supposed to be the happiest day of the year because it's the sunniest day of spring. Yeah. Right. Then why is it raining outsisde?
Today my good pal Matthew Simonette joins me to talk about bad theater, film and music. Will and Grace going off the air (we saw, we listened, we ho-hummed) and the sexy Canadian Mounties who are getting married!
Pictured on the right is the lovely couple- Jason Tree, 27, and David Connors, 28, of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, whom will tie the knot next month in their scarlet dress uniforms. HOT! Can't wait to see those pictures. Now see, this is good news we can use and use and use again.
Thanks to our lovely listener Terry Taylor from Nova Scotia, who turned us onto this real-life sexy gay couple from Canada who are getting married this week. We want to know where is the "adult" film with these themes? We looked high and low on Google and found nothing of the sort.
Come see a live recording of the Feast of Fools podcast at the Apple Store, Saturday May 27th from 7-8pm! Best of all it's FREE.

FOF #312 - Robo Ronnie 3000 - 05.18.06

Doing a comedy show based on the lives of real people means that you don't always get to have them on the show whenever you want. As you may or may not know, Chicago's very own BMW (that's Big Mexican Woman for you ignunt folks) Miss Ronnie has been studying hard for finals and hasn't had the time to tape a show.
But that doesn't mean you can't get Ronnie whenever you want her! Our lovely listener Gary Caplehorne in the UK put together a fab assortment of audio clips dating back several months of hilarious "Ronnie-isms" to delight your ears, warm your heart and plain scare the living crap out of you. He has created a "Robo Ronnie 2006." It sounds kind of like Hal from "2001: A Space Odessey," but with a "Blaxican" (you figure it out) accent.
Listen to the show as we talk about one of our favorite new websites myscienceproject.org, poor people getting shafted by the electric company, the AIDS phone, and the unknown health benefits of radiation.
We also make apologies to Paul McCartney and his wife, Heather Mills McCartney, for their separation because of our "constant intrusion into [their] private lives" by outing Paul's amputee fetish. If you've seen "Hustler White" then you know what we are talking about.

FOF #311 - Homopalooza - 05.17.06

Musician Scott Free decided many years ago that there weren't enough venues or events for openly gay musicians to perform at, so after seeing one too many Feast of Fools shows, he decided to put on a queer music festival to celebrate some of the best GLBTQ musicians out there.
In many ways Scott Free's fabulous jazz show with drag queen Vaginal Creme Davis was an impetus for us here in Chicago to develop the very first Feast of Fools show nine years ago.
Today, the Old Town School of Folk music is proud to celebrate one of the most electric, diverse nights of it's programming with Scott Free's hand-picked festival of gay and lesbian musical delights- the Alt Q Music Festival. And no, it has nothing to do with typing or computer programming.
In years past the festival has attracted some of the heavy guns of queer music like Jil Sobule, Dylan Rice with STYX's Chuck Panozzo, Phranc, Ferron, Grant Hart of Hüsker Dü and even Bitch and Animal back when they were together.
Today Scott brings over the cute and delightful young lesbi-lovely Carrie Lydon and Kate Rickenbacker to play their brand new song "A Better Life", which they will be playing in person this weekend at the show with Toshi Reagon, Erin McKeown, The Prince Myshkins and Brady Earnhart.
Come to the show! We'll be there in the front row taking pictures of the event, interviewing folks for the podcast. Will you be there?

FOF #310 - Treason is the Reason for the Season - 05.16.06

[NOTE: We've reposted this show due to tech problems.] The reason why the phone companies are cooperating with the Republicans in power to sell you out is because they want them to look the other way when they start exorting big and small websites for access to content.
If AT&T had a dispute with any Unions, it can simply block users from getting access to any website or blogs that discuss this matter in an unfavorable light. They could even block sites like Moveon.org to get favors from the current administration. Like Net Neutrality.
If you think this is paranoid or Orwellian, think again. The fact is that AT&T, Verizon, and BellSouth turned over all YOUR phone records without your consent or notification just because Bush asked for them. Blocking a site or two wouldn't be out of the question as well. Why aren't more podcasters and bloggers talking about this?
On a happier note, Victoria Lamarr suprises us all with a phone call from her can, talking about her woes in trying to get a sex change in Mexico. Lots of news about monkeys and alcohol (they like to drink just like us!) and if you live in Florida, you better watch out for those gators!
Pictured on the right is a monkey having a delicious wine cooler after a long hard day of being used as a lab animal for a major cosmetics company.
All the flavor, none of the calories, now with 20% more fresh fruit flavah, the Feast of Fools!

Don't mess with us! Here at the world's most downloaded gay podcast were part of the mega-powerful internet cartel. We're SO tight with Google you don't even know. We share a jacuzzi with Yahoo. Bill Gates dines at my house every Friday and Steve Jobs comes over to watch HBO's Big Love on Sunday evenings. Linus Torvalds and I love going to stripper bars together (he swings both ways).
And even on that, we still have to beg and plead our listeners to donate money for our bandwidth costs. For all our high-profile connections, we still depend on you, the listener, to be THE bread and butter of the Bold Blue Company.
Without your emails letting us know about the kitschiest, craziest stuff happening in the news, without your sexy pics on our frappr map, without your myspace friendship, we'd be NOWHERE. Nothing. Zilch. Kaput. Nada fucking thing.
So let me tell you what we're going to do on today's show. We're going to reveal to you, the listener, a way that you too can become a superstar podcaster! Just like us podcasting superstar types.
Listen to today's show in order to find out how you too can get hundreds of new listeners for any podcast, without even needing to post it on the internet, without any special equipment. You can do this with stuff you already have in the PRIVACY of your own home. Well, in the comfort of your own home.
Join the Rev. DJ, my sweet husband Marc and me your blue pal as we talk about this and many more delicious topics on todays show.

Weekend Movie: Live Long Enough to Find the Right One
Everytime I see this movie, it makes me cry just a little bit.
In this French campaign for AIDS awareness a young man discovers his sexuality through different bad boyfriends, until he finds happiness at the end. Very sappy and touching at the same time. Fine work from Wilfred Brimo, who also directed the 2005 campaign in France.
Thanks to our lovely listener Shauna Carratini who turned us on to this!
In case you were wondering, here's the hetero/female version of the ad. You'll never see something like this on US television.

FOF #308 - Free and Easy - 05.12.06

Eeew! Pete Burns is pretty creepy looking these days. Our fab nighclub personality Sal-E joins us today to talk about Pete Burns' new book "Freak Unique."
Pete Burns got his start in the 1980's at the height of Culture Club's fame with his own band Dead or Alive. His look rivaled that of Boy George's with a dark eyepatch, tons of makeup and wild hair. Nowdays Mister Burns looks like a blow-up sex doll and gets arrested for public fights with his boyfriend.
I know we said we weren't linking to the disgusting photo of him showing his jewels during performance, but here it is. Thanks to Wayne in the UK for it! NOT FOR THE WEAK OF HEART.
Lots of talk about immigrant woes at hair salons, the World Music Conference, the Nukak-Makú's (aboriginal people from Columbia) desire to join the modern world, drug use in nightclubs, and Sal-E's uncanny ability to guess Madonna or Cher's music by listening to half a second of their music!
Have you seen the reality TV show on Fox called Unan1mous? Well, it turns out that one of the people on the show is rumored to have been on a gay porn site. And the rumor is true!
On the show his name is Jonathan. On the gay porn site his model name was Tino. hmmm... wonder why he changed his name?
Here's a link to Unan1mous' website
And here's a link to his profile on the Gay porn site, RandyBlue.com You'll see his penis so it may not be work safe for some of you, but it isn't too graphic.

FOF #307 - Parenting with a Sexy Twist - 05.11.06

Time goes by, so solly. Time go bai, con Loli! We just can't get the fabulous "La Terremoto del Alcorcón" cover of Madonna's "Time Goes By" out of our heads. Have you seen this yet? Click here to check it out.
Today we do tons of Madge bashing. It seems Aunt Esther has decided to show off her boobies in the next issue of W Magazine in a glorious 58 page spread, dressed as a horse rider for the shoot.
Her publicist goes on to say: "Madonna still looks amazing even thought she is 47. She has always been comfortable about showing off her body… in one [photo] she is dressed as an English horse rider but there is a SEXY TWIST as she has her boobs out."
In other Madonna news, she goes on Issac Mizrahi's show to reveal that her daughter Lourdes often gets frustrated by her mother's fame. Madonna says she's a "crap mother" who like many working moms struggles to balance career with her family life.
Although we find it hard to see a "Mommie Dearest" book put out by little Lourdes in the future, we can definitively see an angry mom children's book put out by Madonna: "My Daughter is a Cunt." We wish them the best.
On today's show our good pal Matthew Simonette (picture above) comes by to chew the fat about healthcare, summer movies, urban legends, and old remedies for allergies that Japanese researches are discovering. PLUS! A special suprise phone call from a very VERY famous politician.
You SO crazy Feast of Fools.

FOF #306 - All Obscenities Considered - 05.10.06

It's not like us to be easily offended. But Mary Cheney's dance around her rich, powerful family's politics is on the point of the ridiculous. Thank god gas prices are where they are that hopefully some of the gas companies shills will be ousted in the US elections come November. That is, if they don't get stolen.
On today's show lots of talk about the humor of death and disease, why we think comedy is a great way to cope and reflect on the challenges of life, brothers for science and religion, why Germans have pent up desires to be more colorful than they are and more immgration news.
I wonder what Yoko Ono has to say about all the Apple vs. Apple lawyer feeding frenzy?
A Feast of Fools a day helps you work, rest and play.

FOFA #224 - Leslie Hall, the Glitter Goddess - 05.08.06

Today we look back at a very special "behind the scenes" show where we talked this past December to the glitter goddess, Leslie Hall. Enjoy!
The keeper of "thy gems" Leslie Hall is without a doubt a HUGE internet phenomenon. Just about a year ago Leslie was one of our first interviews on our podcast, where she had started getting the attention she deserved for her iconic photographs of herself with her hundreds of gem sweaters.
You may have seen a gem sweater on the lady at the checkout counter, on your high school home ec. teacher or on that lady that keeps on raving about the bible. But you've never seen anybody own it and reinvent it like Leslie Hall.
This past December Marc and Fausto hanged out with the Gem Sweater Diva herself as she got ready for her fabous live performance at the Beat Kitchen in Chicago, Illinois.
Did you know that Leslie's mom REALLY does make her gold pants, and pretty much anything she wears onstage. This frees up Leslie to concentrate on her music, her graphic design, the development of her website and shaking her body onstage to a seismatic intensity.
To this date Leslie is one of the most popular musicians on myspace and holds an internet following that rivals our own! (We brag, we boast.) Follow us as we talk to Leslie while she transforms from the cute college co-ed to the lighting hot rock and gem diva she was meant to be.
Heads up! If you ever go see Leslie in person, make sure you go to your local thrift store and get yourself a fab gem sweater. Remember how much you paid, because the tacky girl will ASK! Then look out, because you'll be showered with praise and perhaps even more. You'll just have to take our word for it. It's a religious experience.
Check out these HOT photos of us with Leslie Hall in Chicago.

FOF #305 - Tiptoeing Through the Tulips - 05.07.06

Spring showers bring May flowers and what fabulous flowers they are! Most of my family flew in from Puerto Rico to Chicago to celebrate my younger sister Talia's graduation from her doctorate program in Math from UIC. She's Doctor Talia now.
So exhausted with my family, my sister Beatriz and her daughter Victoria (V-Mo), and Marc and I went for a walk around the neighborhood admiring the flowers around to a local lesbian bar to bridge the gap between straight women and lesbians. And also give my 15 year old niece Victoria a heaping dosage of big-city lesbian culture (out on the sidewalk, of course.)
It seems some guys have been going around bars in the neighborhood, putting GHB into lesbians drinks and luring them outside. Nasty stuff.
Click here to check out the lovely pics taken during out walk.
It's a breath of fresh air- the Feast of Fools.

Weekend Movie: Before the internet, there was phone sex.
When HBO first came to be, they would fill time between movies with "promotional videos" that came from the record companies. MTV was not even a twinkle in a record executive's eye. The thought of suing their customers would have made them laugh. So today enjoy this retro video of the Village People's "Sex Over the Phone."
It's not exactly YMCA, and I doubt that soccer moms, football fans and conservative republicans will ever do this Village People song at any public event. So if you ever doubt that they were gay, this "promotional film" will show you just how homo-lovin' Randy Jones and his posse were.
Is it me or does Randy Jones look YOUNGER today than he did in the 80's?

Save the Internet
If you love listening to podcasts, please read this and take action!
Although this may be yet another wedge issue designed by Republicans in Congress to distract us from the War in Iraq and the rising price of gas, it will hurt us all if this passes.
Congress is working on behalf of powerful lobby groups to pass a radical law next week that gives giant corporations like AT&T more control over what we do and see on the Internet. Some internet providers like AT&T are lobbying Congress to gut "Network Neutrality" which is considered to be the Internet's First Amendment and the key to Internet freedom. Net Neutrality prevents AT&T from choosing which websites open most easily for you based on which site pays AT&T more money. At this point in time, BarnesandNoble.com doesn't have to outbid Amazon for the right to work properly on your computer, but this could all change if the bill passes. In the future, company's would have to pay the telecom industry to have their sites available at optimal levels. You can bet they will try to interfere with your ability to download podcasts.
If Net Neutrality is gutted, many sites--including Google, eBay, and iTunes--must either pay protection money to companies like AT&T or risk having their websites process slowly. That why these high-tech pioneers, plus diverse groups ranging from MoveOn to Gun Owners of America, are opposing Congress' effort to gut Internet freedom.
Please take a moment to sign the petition, and get more information on what you can simply do to help preserve the internet. Click here.

FOF #304 - Dog Food for the Soul - 05.04.06

Henrik, Prince Consort of Denmark is crazy about dogs. The honorary president of the Danish Dachshund Club, recently told the Ud & Se Danish magazine “Dog meat tastes like rabbit. Like dried baby goat. Or perhaps - I know! - like veal. Like the veal of a baby suckling calf, only drier.” That's hot.
According to the interview, the Prince is rarely seen without his dachshunds. He has said that he would like to be reborn as a dachshund in the Danish Court. And he has advised parents “to bring up children like dogs”.
On todays show we talk a whole lot about the love that dare not speak it's name: cannibalism. Trojan horses, Brokeback Mountain, and Clay Aiken being banished from some Christian fashion show in Atlanta. Too bad the Hotlanta Circuit Party went out of business in 2004. That would have been a good gig for him.

FOF #303 - Blow Jobs for Peace - 05.04.06

We had asked comedian Margaret Cho on Monday's show if she would give former President Bill Clinton a blow job if he asked her for one, and she said yes. When I asked further if she'd give President Bush one, she declined (for obvious reasons.)
As for myself, I'm pretty bi-partisan when it comes to giving politicians blow jobs. Any President who asks for a spit shine from any of his citizens should get one, because he has his finger on the "button." Anything that helps prevent a nuclear holocaust by getting our leader a little more relaxed does everyone a "world of good." Even McDonna says so, and since I'm gay, that's good enough for me!
On today's show Amanda Steinstein and her pal Noah come over to talk about giving blow jobs to political leaders, weighing in on immigration rights, geography and the ethics of following the law. Why do we feel so qualified to talk about these things? Because we watch a LOT of C-Span. Okay?
Pictured to the right is President Bush in 2004, about to get a big fat kiss from some Republican shill. They look so cute wearing the same kimono! And he says he didn't see Brokeback Mountain.

FOF #302 - Gay Fairy Tales - 05.03.06

This show is not for children. That being said, we talk a whole lot about fairy tales and why they are inherently gay in nature. Some Judeo-Christian parents in Massachusets (of all places) are suing the public school system for reading a story about a King who marries another King (in reality they just had sex) and not notifying them first.
Did you know that Lysol in the 1940-50's advertised its product for use for female hygene? Special thanks to our listener Cameron Brown who emailed us such great scans of these outrageous ads. Click here to check them out.
On today's show Marc and Fausto talk a whole lot about Mexican immigration, seaweed wine, fructose beverages banned from schools, and why Americans are sicker than the British.

FEAST OF FOOLS PODCAST CELEBRATES 300 EPISODES WITH COMEDIAN MARGARET CHO'S PODCASTING DEBUT.
CHICAGO, IL (May 1) - The Feast of Fools podcast celebrates 300 episodes with Margaret Cho, comedy heroine, freedom fighter and podcast rookie.
Continuing to set records while entertaining a worldwide audience the Feast of Fools podcast delivers five days a week an impressive assortment of zany discussions, offbeat news reports, somewhat sage advice, cocktail recipes and celebrity interviews such as the 300th episode talk with Cho.
Cho made her podcast debut in an exclusive in-depth interview on the Feast of Fools show May 1. On the program hosts Fausto Fernós and Marc Felion interview Cho about her comedy, her writing process, her family, her outspokenness on stage, and her shyness offstage.
In the mid-1990s Cho, like comics Ellen DeGeneres, Tim Allen, Jerry Seinfeld, Rosanne and Drew Carey, transformed her comedy act into a sitcom with "All American Girl" on ABC. Not typically known for being Prime Time safe, Cho's comments about the Bush administration at a Moveon.org political rally saying "Laura Bush's pussy tastes like Lysol" have made her the focus of an intense conservative backlash.

FOF #301 - Ground September Eleven - 05.02.06

Today we tackle some of the most heated political topics of our time: immigration rights, homelessness, morbid obesity, the events of Sept. 11, 2001 and the hit films made from it!
Today's show title come directly from Victoria Lamar's mouth. When we traveled last month up to New York City for our fabulous Meet N' Greet, all the way up there she said "I want to see Ground September Eleven." Every possible combination: "Nine-Oh-Oh-One, Zero Nine Eleven, September Zero, Flight Nine Eleven, America United at Ground Eleven." Every scrambled combination of the key words you can possibly imagine, all except "Ground Zero." She makes the event sound like some sort of deli meat. "Ground September Eleven, half off."
In a lot of ways V-Marr is deeply in touch with the way the rest of the country feels: confused and conflicted. Everyone feels terribly betrayed by the current Bush administration in their use of such a horrible terrorist act as a way of gaining political power and the expense of international and local good will.
So where does America go? To the movies of course! Everyone's lining up to see a giant metal cylinder hurtling towards doom. (No I'm not talking about Robin Willams' latest disaster "RV.") It seems from reading a lot of critic's reviews, the new film "United 93" seems like it's not so bad.
Listen as V-Marr, Marc and myself talk about the March for Immigrant Rights, the Star Spangled Banner in Spanish, why Carlos Ponce is so hot, why Cheyenne Jackson is so hot, and a special phone call from V-Marr's boyfriend Fred.

FOF #300 - A Look Inside Margaret Cho - 05.01.06

Comedy heroine and freedom fighter Margaret Cho joins us today in an exclusive podcast interview to celebrate the 300th episode of the Feast of Fools podcast. Happy May Day!
Born in the late 60's in San Francisco, Margaret Cho grew up in a counter-cultural atmosphere that helped shape her comedic sensiblities.
In the mid-90's she joined the ranks of comedians (Ellen DeGeneres, Tim Allen, Jerry Seinfeld, Rosanne and Drew Carey) that have had their acts turned into a sitcom when ABC televsion decided to have her star on the sitcom "All American Girl."
The behind-the-scenes conflict with tv excecutives over ethinc identity and her body plus problems with poor ratings left this critically acclaimed program canceled after it's first year.
Not to be daunted, Margaret Cho returned to the national spotlight with her off-broadway hit show "I'm The One That I Want" about her experiences on the tv show.
In 2003 she embarked on a sold-out national tour of her show "Revolution" of which the CD was nominated for a Grammy for best comedy album of the year for 2003. She also won a "Worst Dressed" award for the dress she wore to the awards ceremony.
Not a person to shy away from controversy, her comments about the Bush administration at a Moveon.org political rally (where she said "Laura Bush's pussy tastes like Lysol") made her the focus of an intense conservative backlash.
Laughing all the way to the bank, Maraget Cho now holds the distinction of having the feature film of her off-broadway show brake records for grossing more per print than any film in history ($1.4 million with only nine prints).
Margaret Cho returns to Chicago on Sunday July 16th to the Chicago Theater to perform a new show "Freedom ‘06." Click here to buy your tickets in advance.
Listen to this remarkable outspoken woman talk candidly about politics, shyness, family, career and sexuality on the 300th show of the Feast of Fools podcast.

Cocktail: Blu Cho
This drink I concoted to celebrate our 300th episode with comedian Margaret Cho. I was so excited to find this Blueberry infused vodka, I just couldn't wait to make a drink out of it! Fausto says it smells a bit like berry bubble gum, I think it smells like Blueberry pie.
The plum wine adds another fruity layer of flavor to the drink and cuts the harshness of the vodka. We like to add a bit of lemon-lime soda to give the drink a bit of fizz. The couple of drops of Blue Curaçao casts a light blue hue to the drink. Because, you know, we all love blue drinks at the Feast of Fools.
4 oz Blueberry flavored vodka
2 oz Plum wine
A dash of Blue Curaçao
A splash of lemon-lime soda
Add ingredients into a mixer with ice, shake and strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with fresh blueberries.
