FOF #319 - Popping Fresh - 05.31.06

We're still trying to get over the outrageous claim that televangelist Pat Roberton also known as the American Osama Bin Laden can leg press 2000 lbs, due to drinking his special "Age Defying Shake."
We say bring it on. I would love to see this hateful, brittle, racist man snap his legs in two as he vainfully tries to leg press a ton. The weight of a small car on this man's legs would at least break his kneecaps. Check out this video where he leg presses 1000 lbs. Ouch!
Just to give you an idea of what 2000 lbs. is, world powerlifter and bodybuilding champion Ronnie Coleman's record is 2,300.
It's not surprising to anyone that Pat Robertson is going around claiming supernatural feats of strength. He is someone who is WAY out of touch with reality, and has a inflated sense of self-importance. And you thought YOU spent too much time in front of the mirror.
In 1992 Pat wrote in a fundraising letter: "The feminist agenda is not about equal rights for women. It is about a socialist, anti-family political movement that encourages women to leave their husbands, kill their children, practice witchcraft, destroy capitalism, and become lesbians." Charming!
Click here for an delicious assortment of Pat's thoughts. Look, it's a SLOW news week, okay?
Also on this show, lots of talk about why the elderly are getting STD's (it's because of Viagra), breastfeeding civil disobedience, why the Gay Games is a scam, and why sometimes the open source model for collaboration can become a small fiefdom.

Does anyone know why we sometimes don't appear in the search bar at all?

I don't understand why they want to delete it, it's definitely not "nonsense". If theres a freakin website and podcast which has already past the 300 episode mark what makes it nonsense?! *shakes fist* rubbish, complete rubbish i tell you

It's abuses of power like this that spoils the rich potential that wikipedia can achieve.

Great show guys .. it was nice to actually hear your mother talk. It adds a new dimension to her writings.
Would you guys be interested in coming to a Rainbow Families (Gays, Lesbians etc...with kids) event that has the athletes doing clinics with the kids? It'll be in Mid june in River Forest. HRCF is funding it. Might make an interesting podcast if we can get the clearances.
My windoze machine done died so the picture disk will be delayed. Some day I'll learn to use the MAC for more that just podcasts and iTunes.
On a fundraising idea ... I'd like a FOF Guest Icon. I'm not interesting enough to be on the show but I can find a few bucks somewhere. Maybe others would like it. Fausto must have it down to a Macr by now.
Thanks for everything. Nikolai and I had a great time at the Apple Store .. I'm going to replace the windoze machine with a Macbook .. I'll make Craig handle it so they know you generated revenue as well as laughter.

If ya don't wanna do a M&G let's go out for coffee. Bring Ronnie too she's wonderful!

Hey Brad I've been a listener since Oct 05. Did you trawl through the archives? I can't even remember the early shows now... I made sure I got all the v-mar, Amanda and Ronnie shows in (modern classics). Another fabulous FOF today.
They have rules on wikipedia about trying to force through material etc so we can't interfere and hound them... I tried and saw there's a banner basically advising against it...plus you have to be a regular contributer to have any real say in a judgement. Those beasts have covered themselves...sly devils! Love u much, can't wait for the Apple vids. x

Excellent show as always, guys. I'm back from my little B-day jaunt in Vegas and trying to catch up on the shows I missed.
Your talk about Pat Robertson had me laughing so hard. I remember one time years ago I was flipping through channels when I caught a few seconds of the 700 club. They were talking about the Gay Agenda, so I tuned in. You had to call the 800 number to get more info, so I did. I figured, if there's a homosexual agenda then I should know what I'm supposed to be doing, right? Apparently we're trying to infiltrate grade schools to convert the kids to the gay lifestyle. How do you like that? I must have forgotten to register somewhere because I never got any kind of conversion tools or anything. I feel really left out. Is it some kind of big machine you have to strap people into or just a simple potion? Can I get the ingredients at the grocery store or do I have to go to some foofoo health food store and buy a bunch of herbs and crap? I mean, this all just sounds like too much work. Can't the homosexual agenda be something easier, like teaching straight people how to dress better. Or making pro sports a little more interesting (I say add stun guns, that'll add a little spark to the preceedings). Yeah, I think I'll pass on the whole converting kids to the gay lifestyle. There are enough of us already. I don't want West Hollywood and Greenwich Village to get overcrowded. It's hard enough to find parking as it is.
Thanks again guys. You all have a happy hump day. :)
Love,
pup don

Funny podcast, my mom watches the 700 club...lol Pat Robertson was also the founder of the Christian Coalition a network of politically motivated of "radical" christians. That believed and still believe America has turned their back on God and it their mission to restore America. What does that sound like..?

Many thanks to all who enjoyed my comments and to Fausto for his shout out!
Seeing the previews for 'The Omen' made me understand why the woman who saw the entire movie is so afraid of 666 that she plans to have her baby induced to avoid it being born on that date! Movies, especially on the big screen, are very convincing to people without a critical frame of mind.
To me, the more serious issue with this woman is that she is taking the movie at face value - she is confusing fact with fiction. When I saw people taking Fausto, appearing as 'Clara Luz', at face value, I was appalled and surprised. At one point or another I think we're all literally enchanted, that is, taken in, by fantasy.
Don Quijote, the Western World's first novel, and most novels after it, are based on this premise and its entertaining and motivating value but often tragic consequences when finally understanding the difference. Spanish calls this the moment of 'desencanto', that is, disenchantment.
LOL, Patricia
