FOF #302 - Gay Fairy Tales - 05.03.06

Podcast
This show is not for children.
That being said, we talk a whole lot about fairy tales and why they are inherently gay in nature. Some Judeo-Christian parents in Massachusets (of all places) are suing the public school system for reading a story about a King who marries another King (in reality they just had sex) and not notifying them first.

Did you know that Lysol in the 1940-50's advertised its product for use for female hygene? Special thanks to our listener Cameron Brown who emailed us such great scans of these outrageous ads. Click here to check them out.

On today's show Marc and Fausto talk a whole lot about Mexican immigration, seaweed wine, fructose beverages banned from schools, and why Americans are sicker than the British.

Always loving you guys! Great show. Yeah, I never really thought about it but those fair tales are kind of gay. I mean, come on call them "fairy" tales and then wonder why they turn out so gay? Snow White has 7 gay dwarfs and she was their fag hag which is why they were always around her. Well, anyway you guys are always awesome.

Much love all night long!

Just want to say I think your show is great and really enjoy listening regardless of the topic. By the way,the blind detective show was called "Blind Justice" with Ron Eldard. He was also starred in "Men Behaving Badly" and was on "ER" for a while.

Keep up the great work. Thanks

Woof! Marc, your picture is damn hot and I love your little 'one liners' you throw into the mix of conversation! Alsways good for a laugh! Anyways, loved the show this a.m.

Besides 'gay', fairy tales were also very creepy if read in their original text! Just see "Into the Woods" sometime and you'll get a hint. Sondheim used the original Grimm story lines as they were intended. For instance, Cinderella's step sisters were blinded by birds! And what's up with a wolf eating a grandmother to get to her granddaughter? Let's see what PETA says about that! LOL

Anyways guys, thanks for another fun filled commute! Looking forward to another tomorrow! Tell Ms. Ronnie, V.Mar, Ms. Steinstein, and the rest of the FOF family "Hi & love" from your kinkster in S. California!

Back to work...

I agree with you on breaking the sodomy laws (go figure). Just trying to understand your point of view. What countries is it ok for people to break our immigration laws? Mexico? India? France? Sudan? Norway? Cuba? Iran? China? Do you think we should just let everyone who wants to come here just come and make it fair? And if we make it fair and have everyone in the world who wants to live in the US just come and let them all in, who is going to pay to house and educate them? Since you know how expensive medical care is since you got that bill, who is going to pay when these hundreds of millions of people need to go to the emergency room? If they have a job and medical care that's great, but I don't know if 50 million people show up we won't have enough housing or jobs for everyone. I'm just trying to understand if you think all people should be able to freely come to the US or just people from Mexico, or just Latin countries? Help me understand. I believe in civil disobedience as much as the next person, I also believe in fairness. I don't think the 11 million people who are not following the immigration laws are being fair to the millions of people who are going through the existing immigration process. I think sitting at a lunch counter or in the front of the bus is one thing, but 11 million people demanding something for breaking laws when there are 11 million other people going through the existing immigration process isn't fair. Maybe a short list of countries and laws to break would help me understand your point of view.

Laura Bush's twat smells like Lysol and you can't buy a vibrator in Texas. Coincidence? I think not....

Ron Eldard's on Broadway right now, holding his own with Eileen Atkins, in "Doubt." He's a pretty little thing, our Ron.

While I have a podcast and squealed with glee when I heard my name... I don't think I ever told you I could do a pleasant Bush impersonation... nor have I ever tried to record any impersonations in a downloadable format.

I'm also not sure if I'd ever sound like an A&F ad, I'm more of a whiney mumbler *giggle*

I was very fascinated by your article about american vs. Brits and there health on average. I agree with you to a point about the american health care system being such shite because of the lobby groups and corporations who business is to make money off the sick and the poor. But my family is supposedly weird compared to the other families in my area because since we are a wierd british/polish family who takes herbal (say it with a H, like how its supposed to be...lol) medicines before going to a doctors. this is of course for basic illnesses (cold, flu, headaches, etc) but if you have people who feel you always have to go to the doctor and are driven away from simple natural treaments then the medical industry knows your in there grasp. i also agree we (as americans as a whole) are very into food, but we are so advertised that we would be into anything they threw at us. Thats me ranting some more though. I got to gush at you guys about the education syatwem somtime but I got to read something for class before i'll bug you with that.

forgot to mention that marc's pic for today is his "Im a badass" pic. very nice. is it wrong that I always thought that the old dinsey movies were all the story before the gay part went down? like the princes from snow white/sleeping beauty/cinderella/etc all end up at a "kings" meeting and they meet in a very bonding way. well, I was a weird kid i guess, but i never saw the guys just liking the chicks they ended up with...oh well. I'll stop writing eventually.

Said by: Rochelle at May 3, 2006 08:30 PM

Rochelle you are so right on! Aladdin, Kevin Kline from the Hunchback, John Smith, Hercules, and so on... these Disney hunks look more like a collectino of Tom of Finland cartoons than anything else!

Oh if only they were real... sigh.

Gary has got it all upside down, it's not immigrant workers who put a strain on government budgets---it's the rich not paying enough in taxes and the wars and occupations in Iraq, Palestine, etc. that drive us bankrupt. Immigrant workers--like all workers, produce much more wealth than they consume---the corporations and big investors keep the wealth we produce and stick working people with the taxes. We should have a world without borders.

Wonderful show, guys. Fausto,I'm a huge fan of Wicked too, and having been a fan of L. Frank Baum's original work I was really able to get the most out of McGuire's novel. Marc, I've read that Wicked was not meant to change the Wizard of Oz, but that it occurs in another dimension, if you will. So he was not trying to "rewrite history". Still, I can't help but read more into the quick exchange between Margaret Hamilton and Billie Burk when I pop my Oz DVD in. The way the wicked witch addresses Glinda by her first name always made me think there was a little more to their history than we were told, even when I was watching it on TV as a child. So Wicked really hit home for me. It was like someone was finally telling me the story I had wondered about for so many years.

BTW, Marc, love that pic of you. You look damn HAWT!

Take care, guys.

On the subject of the Mark of the Beast:

It turns out that one of the oldest surviving versions of Revelation lists the number as actually being 616 (not joking--Google it). Nobody's scrambling to rewrite the Bible so far, though.

Hey guys, just shortly wanna say that this was one of your funniest ever. Saved my half hour long wait for a late bus at 8 am going to work. Especially Fausto telling about being embarrassed of cousin Louis, I had to pinch myself not to laugh out loud in the face of the morning-sour 9-5rs. All the best from A.
