FOF Video #5 - Switch to the Feast of Fools - 04.01.06

Today the Feast of Fools turns 9. As we do on every April Fool's Day, we look back on our past to see how far we've come (and how far we have to go.) Here are some "switch" ads we made in the spring of 2002. The first one is of me in drag talking about my early years as a Karen Carpenter impersonator, when I was a little "thinner."
Check out these hilarious and fascinating PRE-iPod "siloutette" ads we made, inspired by Apple computer's own "switch" ads. Which many people feel that somebody at Apple's ad agency HAD to have seen these ads. Thanks again to everyone who's shared the mic with me for the last years!

Happy birthday to all the guys and gals that make up the FOF cast. You all rock our worlds so much it is hard to believe that if you were a human child you wouldn't have hit puberty yet. Fortunatly for us, you are so far beyond human that you are probably responsible for the birth of several new freak children who may someday pay for your time inside some nursing home. (but that won't happen for a while)

lol those are awesome!
Happy Birthday Fausto and Happy Birthday FOF!
Be one with the butterfly.

Happy Anniversary everyone!
Wow, VMar's video was just freakish. "Jesus was a carpenter!" made me crack up.

To my friends Fausto, Mark, Bill, Silky, Victoria, Jojo: it is sooo great to see you guys on video! I miss you all so much! David Andora: How about coming to Berlin, sweetheart, for some more sparkly, sweaty ... madness?! ;-D
I'm so proud to have been at the very first FOF cabaret! Was that NINE years ago? Damn!
I've been listening almost every day since I got broadband, and it makes me so happy, but also a bit melancholy, since I wish I were still a part of the show. "Stage managing" for you was so much fun.
Hey, if you can make it to New York, why not Berlin? Stupid question, I know.
Since I'm going on and on, I might as well tell you that I’m so proud that people all over the world hear your show ... OUR show! The show of all queer people! ... On your podcast people can hear that there are some thinking people in the United States who take a critical view of the country. Most Americans in the media are sleepwalking, blind patriots. Did you ever hear what that heffer Brittney Spears said on the Larry King show about leaving the important decisions to the President and just trusting him? Why can't all pop stars be as smart and righteous as the Feast of Fools tribe?
Ganz liebe Grüße aus Berlin!

Happy, Happy Birthday!!!
Cheers to the Feast of Fools :-)

Shaunessy!!!! We miss you too over here across the pond in the windy city.
The FIRST feast of fools is where Shaunessy and I met. I remember teaching Linda Lychina how to eat fire onstage... does ANYONE have any pictures of that night?
Boy has technology changed in the last decade. We barely had money or equipment to even photograph our shows.
How is your hot cop boyfriend by the way? (Dont know if you can talk about that here.)
Thanks everyone for all your work, fandom, and love. Fuck you everyone else! (kidding)

For some reason I can't view ANY of the videocasts. every time I try Quicktime says it's a broken link.
Said by: RQA at April 2, 2006 05:58 PM
And before someone says it, yes, I have already checked to make sure that I have all of the quicktime updates installed.
Said by: RQA at April 2, 2006 06:05 PM
Fausto, you continue to amaze and astound me. I liked your Apple-esque testimonial the most. Nothing is cuter than a blue drag queen with "I Dream Of Jeanie" hair brazenly promoting himself. As always, keep up the good work and I can't wait for the meet-and-greet in less than two weeks!
Said by: Milton at April 2, 2006 06:33 PM
damn you for making my giggle when I was trying to sneak my fof in at my grandma's house. its all very amusing and oddly cute. thanks again and I hope for at elast nine more years of FOF.
Said by: Rochelle (from MN) at April 2, 2006 08:14 PM
Thanks so much, Fausto, for sharing these incredibly delightful, clips with us again! They are as fresh as a Spring breeze! This is a perfect time of year to watch them. Happy 9th birthday to FOF! You were right when you told me at the age of 5 that you didn't want to grow up! "No quiero ser grande"... BTW, I got echoes on the clips on Safari so I had to come to Firefox to listen to them.

Happy Anniversary to my favorite podcaster mafia!
i enjoyed the switch videos and i think that you all looked totally fabulous! i can't wait to see most of you in NYC, i chipped in toward your travel fund and i'll be bringing the cupcakes from magnolia myself to the shindig, its the least i can do after pissing you off with my previous comment.anyhow, i'll be hearing you later :)
peace out,

Happy Anniversay!
Here's too many, many, many more years of the FOF. Thank you for your voice, your bravery, and your humor. I wish only the best for you Fausto and everyone at the "Feast of Fools"
The video clips were great! "My name is Fausto Fernos...and I am a real artist" ...so very true!
Said by: Keith at April 2, 2006 10:33 PM
Those videos killed me! Apple's "Switch" ads have nothing on these. They should have recruited the most beautiful woman (on the Internet) to be in their ads.
Congratulations on your anniversary.
Cheers.

Happy Anniversary guys!!! I can't believe you've been at this all for 9 years. That is so awesome. Do you ever do or think about doing a stage show like that agian? Hell, I think you should go Logo or HBO with your special brand of craziness. Here's to love, luck, good health and much happiness to Marc, Fausto, Vmarr, Amanda, and of course Miss Ronnie, and the rest of the extended FOF family. Thank you for all you do.
Much love and puppy treats,
pup don
