FOF #295 - A Walk in the Park - 04.24.06

Podcast
On a lovely spring day like today,
V-Marr begins the show by destroying the microphone with the power of her singing voice. You gotta understand, we're all inspired into a frenzy by the Cher/Tina Turner/Kate Smith Beatles medley that's getting passed around the internet lately like the eubola virus.

Join us on a magical mystery tour of Andersonville, the neighborhood in Chicago where we all live our lives. Come tiptoe through the tulips as Fausto, Marc and V-Marr get out of the house for some fresh air, a cup of coffee and a deep discussion with Fausto's sister Talia Fernós about math, science, and the nature of the universe.

The podcast that gets out of the house- the Feast of Fools.

I subscribe to you via itunes and today's episode it's messed up. It won't play. Also episode 293 is the same as 292. Of course for the correct episodes I can always count on your site, but I thought I should let you know.

BTW, it was a pleasure talking to Vmarr, Ronnie, Fausto, and all of you who came to NYC. I had a blast; my only regret was not spending time with Mark, maybe next time.

hey guys~

pretty good show today, well what was of it..tell me fausto, did you mean to cut Vmar off like that at the end of the show. That's what I got anyway, it just cut off, no warning music nothing. Was it supposed to do that? Anyway, you sister sounds really smart and I would love to meet her someday. I like surrounding myself with intellectual people who are highly thought of, and you both do a definate job of making sure that gets done. Also did you get my letter? I am worried I might have gotten the address wrong. Let me know please. Well gotta jet you guys, but just to let you know...I am thinkin of you all! Big love!

Sending my love always

Great sound-seeing show guys, and the lovely VMarr. You know, the Feast Of Fools has connections at Starbucks. (wink, wink)

Love you all,
Michael

Sorry Folks that's all we have! It was a recovered file. As I remember though, that was pretty much the end of it.

Said by: Marc at April 24, 2006 12:35 PM

What a great show! I'm glad you were able to recover it. It was very Warholian. You know Andy Warhol used to carry a tape recorder with him everywhere and just tape conversations. He even published a book called "A" where he gave a bunch of his tapes to people to transcribe. It's almost unreadable. But I digress. This show was like a little slice of your life and I felt like I was joining you, at Starbucks, drinking coffee.

I think it's so funny that Fausto made the Vmar/Stevie Nicks connection. Look at your flikr photos from NY. I made a comment a few days ago that Victoria looked like Stevie on stage with the microphone. I think a Stevie LaMarr video would be really funny.

Anyway, thanks for making my Monday morning not so Manic (get it, Bangles, Manic Monday? hee hee). Have a great week. :)

Love,
pup don

a great show. I wasn't even 1/2 awake when I was listening to it and when it stopped, i was so confused. i thought I feel asleep on the bus or something. The podcast wwas great and informative and fausto, your sister is a cool dork. thats a good thing. I'm happy you were able to get that back from the lair of lost crap on computers. well I'll rave about the next podcast, as long as it doesn't have a few guests that weren't very interesting.......you might know who I'm referencing. oh well, all of ya'll should have a good day.

Said by: Rochelle at April 24, 2006 05:08 PM

Yeah pup, but unlike warhol, our stuff is entertaining. ;)

Have you actually ever tried to watch "Empire" or "Mushroom"? A lot of his films were made to be played on a wall at a cocktail bar or seen while high on acid.

I hope Ronnie doesnt convert to radical femenism one day and come and shoot me in the heart. And then 20 years later some young actress plays her in "I Shot Fausto Fernós."

Said by: fausto at April 24, 2006 05:09 PM

Nice burp Fausto! And awesome job talking with your mouth full Marc. You two are real and I love you for it. I'm glad I'm not the only gay that isn't uptight. You make me smile so much.

Said by: Ben at April 24, 2006 10:46 PM

Fausto, you are too much. I did sit through about five minutes of Empire couldn't take it anymore. The Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh actually showed it in it's entirety. Did you know that Andy himself walked out of a showing of it once, after a friend of his faught tooth and nail to get a showing of it. When asked why he left he replied, "I didn't want to be bored."

That's why I love him. Someone once said that the statement he was making with his art went something like... "Ha ha ha".

I did watch all 3 1/2 hours of Chelsea Girls and several of his shorter movies that featured some of his "superstars" caught in the act of being themselves on a lazy day at the Factory. Pretty neat stuff, actually. They reminded me of my friends and the goofy crap we used to do with our video camera. Andy's early films where akin to 50% of what appears on YouTube these days.

Said by: pup don at April 24, 2006 10:56 PM

Oh I totally agree Pup. Andy used his wealth to gain acess to tools that nowdays everyone has. He def. was ahead of his time.

But I'm glad I live today and not in the 1970's when HE was the only one with access to the means of production.

In the 1970's I would have been in his films. Today I make films/podcasts/shows I want to make.

We're just getting started. You guys are in for a treat this summer! That's all I'm going to say.

Said by: Fausto at April 24, 2006 11:14 PM

Hey, guys! Glad you could recover the file. Great show featuring all of you out of your normal element. I gotta agree that Fausto has a Warholesque way about him, but he is far nicer. Warhol didn't always play well with others. Great to know that extreme talent and nice are not mutually exclusive!

Said by: David at April 25, 2006 12:07 AM

Well David, I make it a point to be "nice" to others. I want to live in a world where people are treated kindly , with patience, and where oddballs and goofs are honored and put in a spotlight. (Not stupid people like President Bush, but goofy queens like Victoria Lamarr. There IS a difference.)

I don't have time for misanthropes, charlatans, barracudas, and two-faced lazy thieves who sit around trying to dig up false controversy, flattery and superstition just to attain some false notion of wealth.

Said by: Fausto at April 25, 2006 01:05 AM

Thanks for the compliment! :)

Said by: Fausto at April 25, 2006 01:05 AM

I found out a good friend of mine used to visit NYC with his friends back in the 80's, and a few times he would frequent this particular leather bar, Andy would always seek him out and paw him. I told him he was nuts not to pimp himself out for a painting. I have my pride but damn girl, I coulda been bought (or at least rented) for a Warhol painting, LOL!!!
