FOF #259 - Naked Love - 03.03.06

One fine day, Debbie Moore and her lover Nina decided to see what would happen if they went for a walk around the block naked arm in arm. What they discovered deeply impacted both of them, their friends and their lovers for the rest of their lives.
On todays naked-podcast (we took off our clothes for the interview) painter, musician and performance artist Debbie Moore shares her amazing experience of being a body/nude activist in California, and living in a group marriage for over three decades.
Although Debbie is well-known and loved for co-founding the Xplicit Players, she is also a formidable painter in her own right. Her fabulous love of the human body with a impressionistic play of light and color are just something to see in person- so if you live in San Francisco...
ATTENTION SAN FRANCISCO LISTENERS!!!
Today, March 3rd, from 7-9pm
Debbie Moore will be having an art exhibit of her paintings at
City Art, 828 Valencia Street (between 19th & 20th)
Debbie will probably be tallest woman in the room, please tell her that Fausto and Marc sent ya, and she will give you a "Long and Enduring Embrace." These are good people folks. Be sure to go and tell us how it went!

Hey Guys -
Congrats on the NEW Sponsor! I mow have something else to watch after Sopranos! There was a question regarding Polygamy that was raised in your show. If I remember correctly, although the practice is now outlawed there were/are strict rules regarding its practice - namely each wife had to lilve in the same style and comfort level as your other wives - This may explain why these characters on the show are living next to each other in similar constructed homes. God forbid one wife had a dishwasher and the other did not or even worse - one wife had a complete living room set while the other wife has only old furniture. Until there is enough money for all homes to be completed, they must wait .

I think pretty much the law is, (like gay relationships) is you can do whatever you want as long as it's consensual (no marrying children, animals, or robots.)
But in order to file taxes, insurance, etc.. then you do need to jump through those hoops. Help me out here guys! I dont really know too much about the law.
Does anyone here ever consider being in a 3+ way relationship? Has it worked for you? Are there any mormons who listen to the show? Please comment!

I am an ex-Mormon if that counts.
I don't think that a three (or more) way relationship would work. I'm a bit traditional that way... someone always feels left out. Yeah, and sex-wise too. One of my very best friends suggested that we try that and I flat out turned him down... I am still at the point in my relationship where I don't want to share. :) Mormon, ex-Mormon or whatever! A big reason why I just walked away from that church was the fact that I felt people were being too fake... nice all the time, I mean, what person is that happy all the time? I'll tell you - NO ONE!
I still value some of the errr, teachings and try to extend it into my relationship (my family) and it works out well. I just can't really have 27 kids. Ohhh, darn.
I haven't listened to the show, but once I do, I'll be back, eh?

Oh yes, and being naked is so freakin' awesome. I'd be a nudist if I could be! :) Heh heh. But so far, I've only gotten super drunk at parties and stripped to nothing (I'm a naked drunk - and it doesn't take much!)... and of course around the house.

Hi Sweeties,
I am a Bi, but am currently celebate.
I was in a situation once where I and another woman were deeply in Love with the same woman. We tried to share cause it was Soul Love and connected Cosmically, but it did not work out. It did not work cause one party was not as evolved unlike Debbie's relationships.
Thanks Guys for the interview with Ms. Moore.

I was in a 3 part relationship once. There were many reasons why it didn't work but the nature of it being a 3 way didn't have anything to do with it. I would do it again in a minute.
In the leather scene there are what we call "families", where there may be one Dom with more than one sub. The subs, be they boys, slaves, pups, or what have you, usually consider themselves "brothers" with the Dom being the Master, Sir or Daddy. I know quite a few of these relationship that work well. The key is communication. Even in a two person relationship or even a friendship you need to be able to communicate clearly, but a 3 or more person relationship will not survive unless everyone is okay with the scenario, and everyone is able to talk and be heard. If the slightest feelings of hurt, jealousy or resentment pop up, you deal with them on the spot and see how they can be fixed. Nothing can be hidden. If these rules are followed then it can be a very gratifying relationship.

I have to say, once again you guys have outdone yourself. This is probably one of the most interesting people and interviews that I have heard in a long time. You seem to really poignantly capture slices of alternative lifestyle in america. Bravo!!!

I have been listening to you guys for the past few weeks -- you are truly the best way to spend a long NYC subway ride. Thanks for the entertainment.
Also, as another ex-mormon -- I feel it my duty to point out that the individuals in Big Love are not Mormons -- technically the church outlawed polygamy in the late 1800's. If you are currently practicing polygamy you would be excommunicated from the church . . . of course, if you are currently practicing homosexuality you would also be excommunicated from the church . . . they sure do take away all of the fun.
OH -- and congratulations on the sponsor -- HBO's better than Starbuck's anyday.

Hi boys.
Just wanted to offer a BRAVO for a wonderful and
insightful show on Friday with Debbie Moore. While
seemingly a departure from your usual fast-paced
banter, I loved the slower thought provoking pace. It
was the taking the best of Feast of Fools and spiked
with a dash of NPR mixed into one fabulous cocktail,
but one that I'd sip in a nice long bath.
Anyway, keep mixing it up and surprising us!

It's Saturday, early afternoon in Chicago. I woke up a little late. The sun is shining but it's very cold outside. I turned on this show, went into the kitchen to make some delicious banana oat pancakes, and as I listened, I felt totally relaxed with the day ahead. Thank you for a beautiful interview with a beautiful person. Debbie Moore's love of peace and tranquility inside her own skin is something I think we all can admire and aspire to have in our lives. Thank you for sharing her with us.

Best show of recent memory. Fascinating guest - loved the interview. Far outshines the 'banter' shows - though when the banter is good (miss ronnie, amanda) it's great.
