Great Show guys. I remember all the hype about Making Love when it came out. My favorite review was in Time magazine which said (I'll paraphrase because it was a long time ago) that the only thing the movie said was that it was okay to be gay if you were a doctor or layer and lived in San Fransisco or New York.

I still think the best gay movie of the 80's was "Parting Glances." It starred Steve Busemi as a gay punk rocker with AIDS. It is notable in that it is one of the movies of the period where the character with AIDs does not die tragically in the end. Nice portrayal of a broad segment of gay society as well.

You guys never cease to amaze me. I just had a hellatious drive to downtown LA to pick up a package from UPS and you kept me laughing all through downtown traffic, thank you!

I have to comment on one thing you guys talked about. The Hell's Angles is a totally different thing than leathermen and IML. The gay leather community was borne out of the biker clubs and biker bars of the 50's and 60's, and many of those clubs are still around today, but the leather BDSM crowd is a totally different beast.

Long before I was an out and proud kink freak I spent my last summer of my college years working at Conneaut Lake Park (ever been there Marc?) and the first weekend we had a Harley Davidson rally scheduled and the last weekend we had a Polka Festival. I thought the bikers were gonna be this scary bunch of guys an were going to wreck the whole park. I couldn't be more wrong. They were all there in their leathers and looking all big and tough, but were the absolute nicest people you'd ever meet. They all said "please" and "thank you" when asking for stuff and were very respectful. The Polka people on the other hand were the most obnoxious drunkards you'd ever meet. It was surreal. These fucktards in their lederhosen and giant frilly skirts were mean and nasty, breakin' stuff and puking everywhere. I'll tell ya, it really taught me a lesson in judging people by their appearances.

Yes pup don, I have been to Conneaut Lake Park. It's a dump! I rode the Blue Streak roller coaster and I was bruised and battered from the ride. I've never been on a more painful ride. The safety bar is just a steel bar with no padding. It really hurt. And the ride jerks you around so much I think I got whiplash.
My friend use to sing at a place down there called "The Frog Pond" She would use a karaoke machine and sing to all these old people. It was weird. Conneaut is a strange lil' place.

And Marc, dump with a capitol "D"! It was an excuse for me and my college friends to spend a summer together and drink ourselves silly. If you were too hung over in the morning to quit and go home, you worked another day. We got there a week before the park opened and one day someone came by and said that they were letting the employees all ride the Blue Streak, so we ran over and got on. Then the carnie yells "Ready to test the track!!!" and they started it up, and didn't stop until we went through about 10 times. In all my years of S&M I have never had anything as painful as that ride. Man, we were sick! LOL!
