FOF #237 - Thank You Coretta - 02.01.06

Black history month begins this year on a sad note with the death of longtime civil rights champion for all, Coretta Scott King.
Mrs. Coretta is considered by many as the "first lady" of the civil rights movement. She worked hard to keep her husband the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy alive in the difficult years after his assasination 1968. This woman took a horrible loss with dignity and grace.
We here at the Feast of Fools podcast believe we wouldnt be here today if it wasn't for the hard work of people like Mrs. King who dedicated her entire life to expand the dream of her husband from a black civil rights movement, to a movement of civil rights for all. Here's to you Coretta, thank you!
Join us as we talk about Coretta Scott King's death, the Chicago nightclub scene, civil rights, McDonna, and gossip with Sal-E, one of the biggest names in the Chicago drag scene.
Entertaining you by any means necessary, the Feast of Fools.

This is such a close hitting death for me. I owe ALOT to her and her husband. I wish we had more people like that...
Until then we as a people have to stand up in our beliefs...

Fun show as always! Unlike you all, I am watching AMERICAN IDOL this season and have found no shortage of freaks on display! Maybe my freak threshold is lower than ya'll's...ciao!

The sad thing it that as Corretta Scott King passed away, Samuel Alito, a man who sides with the "big guy" and belongs pretty much a racist and sexist boys club in his Princeton days, ascends to the Supreme Court, thus more of the rights that the Kings have fought for are now flushed down the toilet of Amerikkka.
My theory is that global warming is happening becasue Martin Luther King has been spinning in his grave.
