FOF #230 - Oracle of the Internet - 01.23.06

One of our cutest and most loveable stalkers (who has now become an intern) Jeri Blankenship sends us via email cute cartoon drawings of us as animals.
You see, Jeri loves animals and she loves our show. A LOT. She raises cockatiels, you can hear them in the background as we talk to her about her dogs, cats, pigs, hens, you name it! It's a zoo around Jeri's house.
Jeri is a special needs person who lives on disability with her parents. She speaks to us frankly about her situation, and why she finds hope and inspiration living in rural Tennessee. Share in her enthusiasm for our show, her animals, her pills, and why she's proud to be a big phat beautiful woman.
Come on kids, download the show and listen to the Feast of Fools.

Fausto, your talent has no bounds. You managed to gracefully land that train wreck of an interview, congratulations! In the future please do us all a favor and screen your callers. I get enough crazies in real life, sorry. (hope that doesn’t hurt anyone’s feelings)

Jeri: Loved (that's L-O-V-E-D) your interview! And I agree: Keep those babies comin' - there are plenty of gay folk who would love to have them!
Fausto: Daaaahling. Yet another movie faux pas: It was Sally Field in Sybil, not Sissy.
Fausto/Marc: Please let us know the exact date of the NYC 'meet and greet' as I have plans to be in Ireland in April - no date estabished - but can plan it around a Manhattan visit. Details. I want details. ;)
Side Note: I think the privacy issue with Google and the controversy over their decision not to relinquish search records in the face of a subpoena is a timely topic worthy of expansion.

A blast from the past!!! So, I wrote this review of the bar Big Chicks in Chicago years ago...And if you guys look carefully at the review, there is a mention of a certain show there once a month called "Feast of Fools." That's right! Mark and Fausto, the reference is terribly dated, I know. However, a quick e-mail to Metromix might help you get an update, but also a link to your web site, which could mean more listeners! I no longer write for Metromix, alas. I am still so hooked on your show! Keep up the good work!!!!

Wow Cesar, that IS a blast from the past. I can't belive that little blurb is still up there. I'll spare everyone the embarrassment of revealing your age by not saying WHEN that was written, but let's just say it wasnt written in THIS millenium.
Thanks for sharing the fabulous old link!

Great Show guys. Totally unexpected .. and I like that.
Fausto .. did you hear about the guy who asked president if he had seen Brokeback Mountain (after prefacing the question with the notation that President Bush is a Rancher and Kansas is full of ranchers)? I heard it on NPR including the awkward silence from W... would have fallen down laughing but at 70 on the kennedy not a wise choice.

Actually I think Fausto was talking about Carrie, not Sybil. Sybil was the girl with 16 personalities. Carrie was the girl he described. I love both of the movies anyway. :)
And I loved this interview too. I like these "getting to know you" interviews with people from near and far.

Forget the brown acid, DON'T EAT THE BROWN MEAT!
Having spent a great deal of my youth growing up in TX, I feel like I've met Jeri before; she reminds me a lot of people I ran across there...

Fausto, what are you talking about? I am only 20-somtething. You know that! Plus, good writing is timeless!!!
So yeah, I am busted on my age. But I look good! Skin's still tight!

OK - this is why FOF is so fucking awesome. They can get the likes of Teri Garr and Kathy Griffin but then he unearths from middle America this jewel. Man - Fausto and Marc are awesome curators of outsider art.
