FOFA #89 - Rocking Out and Proud - 12.02.05

Podcast
What lesbian joke did Lea Delaria tell Marc and Fausto one fine summer day in Chicago?
Check out this classic podcast as we went backstage at the Out Music Awards in Chicago to talk to some of the biggest names in queer rock n' roll.

Listen to the hilarious lesbian Lea Delaria talk about her recent tiff with Gay Republicans in Palm Springs. Listen to the ORIGINAL Village People cowboy Randy Jones talk about his character being killed on the Simpsons TV show (they drown them in the Navy) and why he sang at President Bush's inaguration, and of course the sexy and charming Rachel Sage, Justin Tranter, June Millington, and the legendary Gaye Adegbalola. One and a-half hours of pure podcasting gold!

This is a comment on the show which talked about Bill Maher, redheads and left-handed people. Books have been written about how and why left-handed people are different from right-handed people. I think it's more productive to say that redheads and left-handed people are different and sometimes people don't know quite why they feel uncomfortable around them. As your left-handed mom, Fausto, I felt so much better to read that people like me do do things differently, and that some of my ditziness and clumsiness, for which I have been criticized so many times, can be attributed to my being left handed. Left-handed people tend to be more creative as well, so that's certainly a plus.
Re Bill Maher: he can be very flip about his opinions - the other day he made some very sarcastic remarks about home schooling that put all home schooling families into one category - afraid to let their children socialize because they might become 'polluted'... So, WATCH OUT for touting agreement with Bill Maher.
Amanda, you sound like so much fun! And of course, George Grant is so so wonderful and funny! I love you too, Fausto, and by extension, Marc! Mua!

I hear what Patricia says...it's strange, my Dad's left-handed, but was always so proficient with mechanical things (car engines, etc.) I think you have your own genius.

(Uh-oh...I'm right-handed, and still clumsy! I don't know what to attribute THAT to...guess I'm just a klutz! I'll have to Scotchguard everything now...'-))
