FOFA #73 - Star Warscast, Episode I - 11.28.05

Podcast
On the opening day of the last Star Wars movie that will ever be made
(according to George Lucas in an interview) Marc and Fausto went to check out the fab film and talk to the die-hard fans about the "Passion of the Zeitgeist" - why these movies have been so popular over generations, why anybody cares in 2005, and why everyone wants to wear such outlandish costumes.

These aren't just sci-fi drag queens like us folks. As you'll hear from the interviews, a lot of the die-hard Star Wars fans we interviewed for this podcast were folks from all walks of life, even Latino/Hispanic fans like me!

Check out the ending of this classic Feast of Fools podcast for the Spanish equivalents of popular Star Wars characters/slogans: R2D2 (Sounds like Arturito which literally means Little Arthur), C3PO (the letters P and O mean fart in spanish), Han Solo/Han Cholo, and other delicious jokes only me and Latin Gay divas like Amnesia Sparkles will get.

Sorry Fausto, I have to agree with Mark. There are very few actual 'sets' in the last three Star Wars movies. There are even less actors. I agree that is an 'artform' but I appreciate the craftsmanship that goes into actual set design and building. It probably goes without saying that I am not one of G.L.'s biggest fans. Acting in front of a green screen is necessary at times but an entire movie where the actors aren't even interacting with each other in the same scene? Sucks!

Just my opinion.

But isnt that just the Christian Haydensen factor? Most people agree that when they are talking to him in person, he usually appears to be on another planet.

All I can think of when I think of that movie is the creepy nurse robot that sucked at her job. I mean, the technology is SO intense they can travel to other planets, have tin-can robots hovering around, but they can't make childbirth safe? what kind of sexist hi-tech world is that?

The thing about star wars is that it's PREQUEL to humanity on earth (Long time ago...etc.) which means we all are descendants from Chewbaca and Yoda.

Oh my.... now I'm picturing Chewbacca fucking Yoda! Thanks a lot! Grr!

Chewie and Yoda. That is so f***ing hot. Loved the re-run. Police-daddy in the stormtrooper get-up was tough. Characters standing in line seemed more fascinating than the ones in the flick....

Love; Ciao,
