FOF #200 - Origin of the Species - 11.21.05

Podcast
Where did all this come from?
Unintelligent design or devolution? Come celebrate our 200th episode as your hosts Fausto Fernós and Marc Felion talk with members of the Feast of Fools family!

We gain insight into the hearts and minds of all our regular cast of crazies. Where did we all meet? How did we come to be the people we are today?

You'll laugh at some of our first encounters with these shiny crazy diamonds. Be fascinated by their personal stories as we walk down memory lane to when we all first met.

But before we go into that, Marc and Fausto open gift packages sent in from our loyal audience! We got so excited, you can hear the excited tone in our voices. Also George Grant ads a special segment and poem written just for our 200th podcast.

We debut our long awaited first installment of "Ask the Crystal Skull." Mu Mu A'chu, a six billion year old crystal skull created by aliens to save the human race is with us today after a long period of slumber. Mu Mu A'chu answers a letter from a woman who trying to determine what her sexuality can be. What great wisdom will the crystal skull impart upon us mere mortals? Don't hold your breath.

Lots of interesting and funny recorded congratulations sent in from fans and fellow podcasters. We were amazed by the number of mp3s that were sent to us and we regret that we missed some (Sorry! We'll play them in future shows.)

Check out the website for KapohoKine Adventures. They sent us a fabulous care package from Hawaii which we open the show. You won't believe the crazy shit they sent us. Thank you Tony and Gary!

Tomorrow: Our very first episode of The Feast of Fools Podcast! The Feast of Fools 2006 calendar featuring Jason Smith's photography will be on sale on this website tomorrow.

You were right, I did wake up to the show.... and because I can't
wear the iPod in the shower, I ended up being late for work.

OMG... it was the funniest epidode yet. Bravo! Brava!

Sorry to hear V-Marr is sick again. Send her my best.

I know your family is coming into town... but I have an emergency
IKEA trip coming up this Sunday. If you (and the family) would like
to go, I have the car that weekend.

Once again... GREAT show. Hi to Marc

Happy 200th! I would have sent you an MP3 file with a congratulatory message, but I just got my iRiver, and can only figure out how to get files from my computer onto IT--not the other way around. So, pretend you hear my voice: Happy 200th!

Said by: Aaron S. at November 21, 2005 10:24 AM

I so wanted to send you guys an MP3 but I have yet to learn how to do that.

Congrats on your 200th episode!! I'd like to think that I had a little hand in making you guys feel loved and successful!

Hugs to you both!

Said by: Joel at November 21, 2005 10:27 AM

hey guys! happy 200....I'm not smart enough to figure out how to send a mp3...I did record about 20 versions that all basically said the same -- congratulations and love you! Maybe by the time you hit 300 I'll have figured out how to send such a file. :)

Said by: Carl at November 21, 2005 11:54 AM

The best show EVA'! Mathew???!!!! I'll just promptly forget that little tidbit slipped out!

It was lovely matching voices to all the fans out there - even the Psycho one. BTW - For the record, I may be Psycho, but I'm not THAT dude. Thanks for the comparison? Whoever he is - he's sick and obviously in drastic need of help!

Congrats, lovies!

Love; Ciao

Said by: Aaron B. at November 21, 2005 12:26 PM

OMG I can't believe I listened to the WHOLE thing!

Congratulations Fausto and Marc on reaching 200. I have been a fan of yours since the very first show and you hold the distinction of being the only podcast that I have never missed an episode of.

You have THE best queercast out there. I appreciate, so much, your support for podcastsoup and soycandlesbyphebes. Love you guys, love all your characters and I look forward to covering FoF 300 on the soup.

Said by: mike hipp at November 21, 2005 03:16 PM

Well you know we love you too Mike! We always burn your candles when we podcast, it helps us to relax to see the soy candle burning with the delicious smelling patchouli oils... maybe that's the secret!

You know what would be nice? Is Lavender... I was in this lesbian boutique store and they had soy candles in every shape and color... and I thought of you.

Said by: Fausto at November 21, 2005 03:39 PM

Congratulations guys! I listened to the whole thing. Waaay too long, but totaly worth ever second.

Can't wait to see you guys in your videocast.

Said by: Carol at November 21, 2005 05:12 PM

Thanks for making my day brighter every single day of the week. I'd like to buy you guys dinner sometime!

Said by: RcktMan at November 21, 2005 07:24 PM

This outpouring of emotion has simply gotten me bleary-eyed. I get so emotional, baby - every time I think of youuuuuuu... (stop it, Whitney! Slap! Slap!). Congrats for makin' it, lovies! I especially enjoyed hearing the "roots" (and what we now know Marc is "rooted" to - of your special clan! Next time I make it up to the Windy City, I'll definately stop in for Tuesday lunch and a commemorative tour of Clark's on Clark. V-Marr? Can I "win a date" with you? Au domain....

Love; Ciao!

Said by: Aaron B. at November 21, 2005 07:54 PM

I'm trying to make my way through the 2 1/2 hour show, but I'm not sure I will make it. Either way, thank you guys (and all of your guests) for providing such an entertaining podcast.

Said by: James Anthony at November 21, 2005 09:00 PM

Happy 200th Boys! You have been an inspiration to the podcasting community. Keep on truckin.

Your podcasting friend and neighbor,

Said by: Marshal at November 22, 2005 01:28 AM

I LOVE the closing song. I need to find that for my own listening pleasure. I'll add it to the Baby Teeth Album in a playlist called "Feast of Fools Toons" so I can relive the magic when I'm NOT listening to the actual show. :)

Said by: RcktMan at November 22, 2005 02:17 AM

you guys rock!

this podcast was AMAZINGLY long but i was kept enticed by everyone's "how we met" stories. some of them i'd remembered (like Miss Ronni's) but others i was just enthralled with. it's always fun to have moments like this in podcasting to look back on and see how far you've come. and i bet you boys come pretty far! ooh baby!

very very fun! keep em comin'. my iPod beese 'ungry!

Personally I didn't think it was long enough! Certainly made my work day go by much faster!

Joel

Said by: Joel at November 22, 2005 09:46 AM

I always thought the name Feast of Fools came from the song Descending, by the Black Crowes. Guess I called that one wrong. Great show!

Said by: Eric at November 22, 2005 11:18 AM

200 episodes old and still fresh as a daisy! Great show (I'm almost finished) and the calendar looks smashing!

PS: Mo Gaffney is half of "Kathy & Mo", with the "Kathy" half being Kathy Najimy:

http://kathynajimy.com/

Their work as a duo is very funny and worth checking out.

Also, the drummer for KISS who looked like a kitty was named Peter Criss.

http://www.nndb.com/people/565/000022499/peter-criss-solo.jpg

I, like your PR cousin, used to be obsessed with KISS! Obsessed, I tell you! Oh, well, it's like John Waters said, "Life is nothing if you're not obsessed."

Ciao and Congrats again!

Said by: Eric Luther at November 22, 2005 04:24 PM

You guys rock and are by far one of my most favorite podcasters.

Keep up the great work for another year, and I'll be your faithful listener and future stalker.

Love, hugs, and kisses to all, and a speedy recovery to Victoria LaMarr!
