FOF #156 - Prom Queens - 09.20.05

Today Indigo Girl Amy Ray talks with our lovely correspondent Gregg Shapiro about her new album "Prom" now available on iTunes. She talked about high school, her own gender experience, her band, and why she thinks she looks bad in a prom dress. (But I think she looks FABULOUS with those blue streaks in her hair!)

Also today V-Marr returns with her platonic boy-toy Johnny Anthony Nunziato about the new rap song they are working on. Why does rap music focus so much on sexual slang? Listen to this hilarious attempt by Johnny and Victoria to rap live on the air. All we can say here at the Feast of Fools is I hope they don't have to go the eight mile. Check out these lovely photos of them horsing around in my pad.
And of course we chatted about the J-Lo's fur problem and what the delicicious aputee-supermodel Heather Mills McCartney is doing to try to stop her. We wish her luck!

I really enjoy your show when I am working on my house or sitting in my cage in the office. I especially like the show that covered Wig Stock and your interview with RuPaul killed me… I have to say the last show that you posted with the guy that works on the aircraft carrier was one of your best. Anyways I had to do a search for the CNN article that was mentioned. Here is a link if someone has not already provided it…
http://www.cnn.com/2005/US/05/20/recuit.delay/
I just wanted to let you know that while people were dieing in the gulf coast, President Bush was in San Diego promoting his war and tooling around town… One of the drag queens here wrote a great opinion piece about it….
http://www.gaylesbiantimes.com/?id=5770&issue=924
Anyways, I just wanted to say that I think that this administration is not the main thing that is fucked up with this country right now. What is? Religion….
How can there be a separation of church and state when the president invokes god in almost every speech?… How can people be condoning war when they are “pro-life”/”Pro-Choice”? If people are going to believe in the bible, they should believe in the WHOLE thing…. If you believe that gay sex is a sin then you MUST be against any form of killing. Regardless of who attacked us. (remember thou shall not kill!?!?!)
Religiously people are selective of what they feel is “right” and “wrong” and the republican party knows this and manipulates the majority of religious people with this kind of information.
Aside from the excuse of WMD, if we went to Iraq to “free the people from the tyranny of an evil leader” then why are we not providing the same services to
the thousands of people in Africa who live under many similar circumstances?
Furthermore… With regards to energy, Why are we doing business with a country that impedes the most basic rights to their women? What kind of
message does that send?
If we really want to win the war on terror, we should be taking a Gandhi-esk
approach to this and take the following action
• Put ALL resources into researching and implementing alternative energy infrastructure.. (solar, wind, fusion, etc) from collection of energy to delivery of the home as it is seriously outdated. If it wasn’t then we wouldn’t have had roaming blackouts in So Cal. (this would also create much needed jobs)
• Pull out of Iraq. You can lead a horse to water but you cannot make it drink. There were no WMD’s found, Saddam is out of power. The people of
Iraq are free end of story… Yea we could “stay the course” as your BF Mark so notably mentions.. but that is what we did in Vietnam and it didn’t get us
anywhere.
• Secure the homeland. An eye for an eye only makes us both blind…. But we can create jobs and defeat terrorists by protecting our boarders without
killing others…. Unfortunately it does not matter who attacked who… If we really want to be a super power, we have to lead by example… History has
taught us that non-violent routes lead to the best outcomes… look at Martin Luther King Jr. and Gandhi.
Anyways that is my two cents… Keep up the good work

Holy shit! That was the funniest show I've listened to! I was crying when you read Vmarr's comment. I played it twice and had tears streaming down my face.

yeah, that's the Easter egg towards the end of the show. V-marr cracks me up so bad.

I won't write my manifesto here, but I just want to say I enjoy every show with V-Marr and I can't wait to hear her rap song. Victoria should teach a class in LeMarrinese, official language of LeMarrlund where everyone's fabulous!
