FOF #145 - Labor Day - 09.05.05

Podcast
Unlike rock legend Fats Domino,
hundreds of thousands of black people in the Lousiana-Mississippi coast are struggling to keep order, stay alive, and survive the combo of Hurricane Katrina and Prince Bush's sluggish response to this calaminty. And Lousiana is a RED STATE! Can you imagine what the federal response would be if a natural (or terrorist) disaster happened in a "liberal" area like New York City, Chicago or Crawford, Texas? Heaven forbid.

So do your part and give a little, or give a lot. Just give.

On today's show Fausto sips on a Beaded Lady and talks about one of his favorite listeners Brianna, Fats Domino, Ellen Degeneres, hurricanes, and more.

BONUS: John Q Sanchez's third installment from WIGSTOCK 2005 in New York City. In our last report from John Q. Sanchez at Wigstock, there's a recap of this year's Wigstock highlights with Maeve Bryne, Monica Lynch, and Brian Funk. Also--learn a surprising fact about Ireland! And we return one last time to the Wigstock stage for John Kelly's traditional closing song, performed as Joni Mitchell.

Bless you for posting today, Fausto... you seem to be in a minority. I have to spend several hours helping a friend price Xmas merchandise today, with my Dell DJ for company, and I'm glad I'll at least have you to listen to. Thanks again.

That's what we're here for!

Hey all...

It is heartbreaking what is going on in the deep South. Finally, it looks like the National Guard is on the way! Notice the National Gurard...not the (inter)National Guard! Hope I get chosen for the free album design!

Love the show and listen daily!

"Hi Fausto - I've been singing your praises over here for so long now, hopefully some the people who read my writings or listen to my audio will now have an inkling of why I do so.

Your humourous or irreverant shows make me smile when (some days) there seems little to smile about - and sometimes you include pieces or interviews which lay bare some of the hypocrisy and heartlessness that is so rampant these days.

I suspect that only a fellow podcaster can appreciate how much effort and commitment it takes to produce a show of 40 minutes to an hour,
five days a week - I, for one, simply couldn't do it. Respect, my flaming blue pal! Cheers, Koan"

[note: the feelings are mutual Koan... This is just one great lovefest! I think I'm going to be sick. Sick with happiness that is. -Fausto]

hey Fausto

great show...
you might try beatnix for the smoking jackets -- I'm almost positive I saw some in there.

I hate all rubber bracelets -- so fucking stupid. John Q in NYC has a super cute voice.

Hi Fausto and Marc

Another great show - love your choice of words and how they make me laugh and I get incredibly jealous of your word choices - very creative

It is so tragic for the many lives that could have prevented if they would taken the time to do so.

Keep the faith
