FOF #111 - Faking it - 07.13.05

Fake your enthusiasm: celebrity endorsed fake tans, Madonna's fake kabalah children's book (she didnt write it herself), Tom Cruises' fake press releases, and how scientists at NASA are working hard to develop FAKE MEAT, synthesised from cells to be grown for food. We keep it real while talking about fake stuff on today's show with the deelightful Amanda Steinstein, Marc Felion and (me) your flaming-blue loveable pal, Fausto Fernos.
Bridge the digital divide: donate some money to buy a drag queen living with full blown AIDS a computer in order to start her own blog/videocast.
We're at $142.00 right now trying to raise money to buy a computer for Victoria Lamar!

Creating fake meat sort of brings into focus all the issues with exploitation of animals, humans, and health of the human body. Really great show guys!

Thanks John and Carol for the words of praise. I'm trying to keep the shows around 35-45 minutes each for many reasons one of them being bandwidth.
Tomorrow's show has even more Amanda for you to love, so stay tuned...
Please tell your friends about our BRIDGING the DIGITAL DIVIDE fundraiser (Buy Victoria Lamarr a computer) one person at a time...

I love Amanda's voice -- and her commentary (is ther and image of her somewhere on the site?) Great Show.
Send my well wishes to Ms. Lamar....I've never had the pleasure of meeting her, but I sure love her guest appearances on all of you shows (live and podcast).

oops so here's my tip:
fuck the AA nazis with your big black dildoe. Take that pain med as directed, girl. It will return you to your extreme fabulousness all the more quickly. BTW, Fausto, your gay card is in question because of the 'beard' faux pas. I'll defer to Marc on the issue.

Good job guys. Amanda was a wonderful lilt to the show today. The political slant was nice, the science delving was informative. You guys aren't going legit on me are you? I take you on my walks every morning while I walk past cows look strikingly similar to ....[i've been listening to too much of the wanda bashing, I won't even go there].
Hugs to the Blue, the Marc and the Amanda.

Amanda was amazing as usual. Love her on the show. Wish Victoria well. Can't wait to hear her back at full health and in your "studio" again.

Incidentally, since the original Orson Welles / Mercury Theatre on the Air radio production of "War of the Worlds" was mentioned in this show, you might like to know that you can download it as an MP3 from http://www.mercurytheatre.info/ - in fact, they've a raft of MTA recordings there, and you can download the whole collection as a BitTorrent. Good listeneing, if you fancy a break from all those bitching queens... what am I *saying*?!

Carol...are you implying that fake meat exploits animals? See, I see it as the opposite, and I can't wait to make a steakwich out of cultured meat...num num. Maybe they can genetically modify it so it tastes like it's been marinating in teriyaki for six weeks.
John...you need to have your hearing checked.
Love,
-AS
